Woodcraft sent 15 copies of this new book to each store, can anyone tell me how to get the coupon needed to get this book from your local Woodcraft?

There's a new one, and while I can't imagine there is some sort of magic inside, or super secret set ups etc... it would be nice if Festool just made this available for purchase (or for free...) to all.

I don't know anything about a Woodcraft coupon for it, but we'll be posting it on festoousa.com as a free downloadable PDF in the next few weeks.

I talked to Woodcraft and found out that each of the 75 woodcraft stores got 15 copies of it to be used as they saw fit, most likely on a first come first serve basis for an upcoming Festool Domino class/demo, so i called my local Woodcraft and secured a copy. the Coupon idea was just a rumor.

@TylerC

Does this booklet cover just the D700 or the D500 as well.

With appreciation,

Both DF 500 and DF 700. If this is well received, we'll try to do more things like this in the future.

Is it just a basic rundown, or exploring advanced uses ?

In general, it's going to be more helpful to new DOMINO owners and people who are considering one. If you're pretty familiar with the DOMINO, I'd recommend that you download the free PDF version once it's available. If you find it useful, then track down a hard copy.

eh hem!
When might that be?
Even long term owners of either Domino are open to learn new techniques aside from the fact that the more versatile they are proved to be can only enhance sales to those that may have been weighing up cost v use.

Here's a low-res, coverless version of it:

I don't want to publish it to the website until I get a better version, but here you go for now.

Thank you @TylerC

Might have found a correction needed on pg 64.  It says: "This application example demonstrates how to connect a kitchen countertop," right above a photo of a very long conference table.

Rochester, NY) anyone with questions, I'm sure you can get them answered. My first and looking forward to it....a few Foggers from that store Bruce, Chris and Sean and more who have been great sources of info will be enjoying the morning as well - starts at 10 am

It would be great if similar would exist for all tools (and also cover the possible accessories useable with them), the paper 'manuals' that are included in the box are somewhat 'thin'.

It'll be quite some work to create them, but it would certainly raise the value of the system if one could download such for $newstuffjustdelivered or $shouldireallybuythis to get not only an overview of what is all possible and step-by-step instructions on how to do that quick, precise and repeatable but also on what $othergreenitems would make sense to have as it would add function/convenience/possibilities.

I think it would be good to embrace the idea of paper going out of fashion and have them download-only so they could be kept up to date with new interesting stuff added to them: like someone figures out an innovative new way to use that specific tool, a new accessory becomes available that opens up new possibilities / better ease of handling, product number changes in case new versions come out, ...

They would work as all of marketing material (for prospects to look what they can do), training material (for new users) and shopping lists (like the accessories part 6 in the domino) for quickly identifying the item# of what one might additionally need or when replacing used-up consumeables.

Further thought: These days it should also be possible to auto-generated PDF (or collate them from several precreated ones) so if one could enter the item# and serial# (or preferably have this directly linked from myFestool for registered machines) to get one single download tailored for that specific machine (including EKAT drawings/spare part lists and whatnot) with all the knowledge that exists about it... Festool would have something that afaik isn't that common these days and would be another selling point (not only great tools but also great manuals with all you need on how to use it).

Final thought: Please keep in mind that not everyone wants/has the option to install the latest Adobe bloatware. Also it would be great if the bookmarks wouldn't be only 'part1, part2, part3'...

That's the hope. If enough people seem to value this, we definitely want to do more. And (considering that this was our first of these) we're open to feedback on how to improve it.

Hey that was really well done.  An excellent combination of basic user manual info, application examples, and eye candy in an aesthetically pleasing format.

I sure hope those two gentlemen are scrawling more things on napkins... [thumbs up]

Thanks for the link

I'll throw my 2c in before it has downloaded.. the title of the file is finalbook.pdf whilst it is easy enough to rename by the end user I am sure it wouldn't hurt to have it named slightly more auspiciously say along the lines of DominoBook. unless of course you want to join the click bait community the something along the lines of - You will never believe what this tool can do! or A random person went to work in their workshop, what they did will amaze you!!

enough silliness, thanks for this I'll finish my Uni assignment then have a look through

Hopefully there is no hidden meaning in the title "finalbook" as in the end of the Domino is near.
