Could somebody please clarify the the correct product codes for the various KAPEX saw blades please?

I'm seeing two different series ...

494604, 494605, 494606, 494607

495385, 495386, 495387, 495388

Biggest confusion is that on sites referencing 495... blades, I've seen pictures of blades with 494... codes shown. Are they the same thing or are there differences?

I'm facing similar confusion with TS55 blades.  Sad

Kev, see attached. This obviously pertains to the USA market, but possibly worldwide. Essentially, Festool changed the safety warnings on their blades and this is a labeling issue. This change was made here back in August, 2008 and pertains to Kapex and TS blades.

ALL Festool circular saw blades have new item numbers. The only thing that has changed
is the addition of safety warnings printed directly on the plate of the blade. The blades are
still the same in every other regard and this is a labeling issue only.

The saw blade package will list both numbers for reference. The large type numbers are
the new numbers. The old numbers are listed below the new numbers. The following chart
reflects those number changes:

Old item # Description New item #
TS 55 487 377 Standard Saw Blade 495 374
439 685 Panther Saw Blade 495 372
490 516 Universal Saw Blade 495 376
491 952 Fine Tooth Saw Blade 495 377
439 686 Aluminum/plastic saw blade 495 373
489 457 Solid Surface/laminate saw blade 495 375
TS 75 493 197 Standard Saw Blade 495 379
493 196 Panther Saw Blade 495 378
493 198 Universal Saw Blade 495 380
493 199 Fine Tooth Saw Blade 495 381
493 201 Aluminum/plastic saw blade 495 383
493 200 Solid Surface/laminate saw blade 495 382
493 351 Steel blade 495 384
Kapex 494 604 Universal Saw Blade 495 388
494 605 Fine Tooth Saw Blade 495 387
494 606 Laminate Saw Blade 495 386
494 607 Aluminum/plastic Saw Blade 495 385

Peter nailed it. And, I'm pretty sure that was a global change.

TS 55 487 377 Standard Saw Blade 495 374
439 685 Panther Saw Blade 495 372
490 516 Universal Saw Blade 495 376
491 952 Fine Tooth Saw Blade 495 377
439 686 Aluminum/plastic saw blade 495 373
489 457 Solid Surface/laminate saw blade 495 375

These "495" prefix saw blades are the old numbers prior to standardizing the kerfs for the TS 55 with the exception of 495377, which is the current number. The new 2.2mm kerf blades, other than the Fine Tooth Blade, all start with "496".

Tom

EDIT:

EDIT again:
When the kerfs were unified, the Standard Blade was eliminated and the Panther Blade was modified in style to be more of a hybrid between the two.

Seems the blade numbers for TS55 are different in the US and UK then - interesting (based on 49630* codes on Amazon (US) compared to the 2012/2013 UK Festool catalog)

Oz codes line up with UK codes.

Thanks all ... my confusion started when I was looking at compatibility of third party blades at a woodworking show today and then it just snowballed !
