Dear Festool USA,

When will you begin offering the MFT/3 extension in the US?  Since I am not sure how to paste a picture into this post, I will include a link:

http://www.festool.de/Produkte/Seiten/Produktdetailansicht.aspx?pid=495510&name=Zubehoer-MFT-3-VL

I have the advantage / disadvantage that I speak German and can see all the wonderful Festool products offered in Germany, but not yet in the US.

Thanks

First, I'd like to welcome to the forum.  Big Grin

This particular product is considered part of the Compact Module System (CMS).  It was shown to several members of the forum who attended end user training events in the past couple of months.  You can read more about it here: http://festoolownersgroup.com/index.php?topic=7547.0

Regarding a launch date, I don't have any specifics but we do have plans to bring this to the US, sooner rather than later.  Thanks for the question.

Shane, thank you for the quick reply and the good news!

Having the versatility of using our circular saw, jig saw and router in a base like this next to the MFT would be a very useful addition to an already great system.  I will (try to) wait patiently and look forward to placing my order!

I looked at the thread that showed the router table extension. WOW, that would be great. I guess I will put my plans on purchasing a kreg router table on hold for now. Did not really want to buy a third router as the Festool OS 1400 router does not fit in most other router tables.

The post was 6 months old. I Hope we will see the router extension soon here in the USA. I have my credit card ready. It might even get me to buy a second MFT/3.

After all  the Festool System is the main reason I started purchasing Festool products!

I have a friend who is in the international shipping business.  One of his coworkers is big into Festool.  He told me this guy just calls one of his counterparts in Germany and tells him what he wants.  The friend buys it and sticks it into the next outgoing container.  I was/am thinking about trying to smuggle in a CMS table and various modules myself.  Would prefer to buy in the US, but may have to go rogue.

You could always make your own router table to use until the CMS is available - I just made one that I posted about here. I used it again today, and I love it. Thumbs Up

I'm in the UK, so the CMS is available here - I just can't afford it...  Crying

I looked into this route of getting a CMS too. The shipping for these bulky items is a killer :\
