Hi I have a still good C12drill a few years old so Ni-cad and am looking to buy the new impact driver Ti15 (li-on). In april here in NZ its on at a special promo price but just the drill in a systainer only. (I have most of the drill attachments in my c12 kit, so don't require duplication.) My question is can I for the time being, use my batteries and it's charger from the C12 drill? If this will work I'll buy the Ti15 and at a later stage look at getting a carvex kit with it's charger and spare batteries so I can use em for both.
thanks

Yes, your C12 NiCad battery is compatible with the TI15.
The reverse would not be true, however. A LiIon battery from a newer drill, like the TI15, will not work with your older C12 NiCad/NiMH.

Reading the pamphlet it says the Basic kit on promo comes with a "FastFix adapter", so I assume that must be what's required to enable me to use my existing chucks from the C12 set.

That's the doodad - as long as it comes with your kit ... I wasn't certain how "bare" the kit was. 15/3 batteries are quite cheap at the moment - shame your charger is old.

Yeah, I agree, but until I get the full Carvex kit it'll just have to do for now. Looks like Festool is beginning a promo here following alot of other manufacturers in that you buy the basic tool and mix and match the battery to suit the tool required. Once I get the new charger, I'll go all Li-ion, but hey by then they'll probably have come out with something else and make it all old tech anyway

Fortunately you're buying into newer tech and Festool tend to have a long model life cycle.
Syslite ? ;-)
I went corded CARVEX as I can't imagine using it without a vac.

Hi Kev, yeah once I get by card balance paid off, I'll eventually get the carvex, although what model I'm not sure yet. I hate the dust being blown in front of the blade on my old B&D jigsaw but I also hate the darn cord sometimes getting in the way. Will it be a case of what annoys me more (dust in front of blade line) so get the powered version to run the vac-putting up with a cord and hose connected. I know they all take the vac but if I'm using a powered vac I reckon I may as well have the jigsaw plugged into it anyway.
