I was in the downtown Toronto store this morning and they have GRKs on the floor. Don't see them on the website yet. I remember someone saying they were available at the Burlington store as well.

Around here, very few companies carry them, and none carry the full line, despite what their sales monkeys want to tell the customer. It really hacks me off to be told that a vendor has what I'm looking for, only to get there and find that the sales monkey was BS'ing me.  |

Did these two places also have the bits available to drive them? What is that bit configuration called? And, that also leads me to ask. Why are they using that particular configuration? I can envision many places where the GRK screw designs could be used, but it's irritating to have to also buy a new set of bits to use them. |

Each box comes with a 1" wire detent bit needed to drive the screws. As far as I know all of their screws are torx drive. I know what torx drives look like (and even have a set), but I've never used any. I did notice the similarity of these screws to torx, but some reason, they looked marginally different. That was why I was thinking I'd have to buy a new drive set. |

I've been using nothing but GRK screws for about six months, purchased online due to limited selection at local stores. Everything from #4 x 0.5" through #10 x 4.75". Some boxes contained a driver bit, plus with my second order I also received a separate box of bits of assorted sizes, so haven't needed to buy any new bits. No cam out, and I have yet to wear out/break/throw out a single bit. I use T-18 so no shortage of torque of the screw head.

In the last two months I have bought and used over 1000.00 in GRK screws.
From the RSS, R4's to trim heads. I love the screws and my lumber yard around the corner stocks them all. I feel I am at least 50% responsible for their stock.
I have had several words with the local rep and manager of the yard, letting them know I need them to carry a good selection of screws.

I find it hit and miss with Home Depot. I recently moved from Ohio to Illinois. My HD in Ohio had GRK screws. The one in Illinois has never heard of them and don't think the company stocks them.
