Want to see a $20K chunk of wood that will basically fit into the bed of your pickup (almost)? http://talaricohardwoods.com/images/BastongeButt/1441.htmlI am within a few miles of here a couple times a month (near Reading PA) and have not made time to drop in. I have to fix that soon. RMW

Nice. Talarico has always been a little more expensive than the other Pennsylvania boys. See if you can work him down to $18k.

That is some beautiful wood but no wood is worth that much. I don't think I could cut it.

Wow, looks like Koa with all that curl. Can you slice it up and make guitars out of it? That's only way you could recover those costs, and even then your competing against more reasonable highly figured woods!

Their ad says $20k up to $35K per slab. Looks like they're asking for a quarter million-plus off that one tree. Maybe you could talk 'em down to a mere $200k if you take the lot.

Supply and demand - way too rich for my blood! I have 2 1/2 inch thick Honduras mahogany timber 24 inches wide 18 feet long. Anybody want to give me $20K for a very rare piece of timber? No need to rush, I've had these timbers for 30 years in my lumber rack. I also have 4/4 and 8/4 Brazilian Rosewood that I bought 40 years ago - anybody want to spend a lot of money for this rare find? I would have to get a very crazy price since my wife is waiting for her dining room set with this wood but, she may change her mind if the price was right (think $Kbucks)! Actually, I think Tallerico has some very beautiful material and If I had the correct customers, they would be the supplier of choice.

Based on the 20-year track record of my retirement accounts I am really kicking myself for not buying a bunk of Honduran Mahogany or Some teak back when it was $5.00. And I shoulda bought Apple when it was $3.00...

I did produce a very nice wall mounted display case for a customer that had a very nice antique but, I think that wood is destined to be a dining room table for my wife

Cause you might want to Look at the prices for *LEGAL* pre CITES treaty B. Rosewood guitar sets....

Thanks fritter, and btw I do some veneering with 1/8" slices to keep the overall weight down on projects like the wall mounted case. I have both straight grain and plain cut rosewood.

It may be a lot to most of us, but in a 15 trillion dollar US economy there are plenty who can spend that without thinking twice.
