A small improvement in my opinion would be that the bit holders would move the opposite direction. That way the heavy bits won't come loose when opening the systainer if the compartment isn't closed. Happened to me a few times  [unsure]
You can pop out the tilting racks and put them back in the other way if you want...

Hi. So my attic looks like they do in real life. A huge mess...;)

Contents in the smaller segments might switch around a bit, but I really like to have the "ultimate" needs in order in the center and then be able to just throw anything I might need right in.

Looks like you can pack quite a bit in there...good stuff!

Here is my Attic setup. I haven't finished the proper printing for the drills, 5mm is actually 6mm and 6mm is actually 7mm.

Errr... you can't Chris; at least I can't. My trays are shaped for orientation, and the racks themselves have different sized holes on one side than the other, so I can't put mine in the other way around. Do you have something different? Have you tried?

Don't turn around the trays - just the tilting bit holders that fit inside the tray.

Tee, Lee Valley sells Tanos systainers, including a SysII with attic lid and also the Bit Storage Tray for Systainer┬« Case with Lid Storage.  .  You can either do a search for Tanos which wil show the entire line, or the fore mentioned discription.  I've bought quite a few Tanos and other items such as their Veritas┬« Mk.II Honing Guide System.  Great vendor three thumbs up!!  [big grin]

I didn't realize these existed. A conversation in 2013/4 found nothing like this.

I'd buy the 769094, but it's another one of Festool's infuriating NAINA decisions, and I'm not paying upwards of $100 for a grey market import either.

I think we must have different trays - the holes in each side of mine are different sizes so you can't turn them around.  [crying]

I tried it already and there is no way to switch the tray or bit holder without a modification.  And if you do a modification the little handle on the front side of the tray disappears under the cover so it is not easily removed without removing the cover. So I'll just have to remember to close the cover [big grin]

@vogel61 I'm curious, you say that you didn't finished the proper printing. Do you mean that you found a way to print the labels on the bit holders yourself?

I did remove the original printing on the bit holder to the right (apologies for the picture being rotated 180┬░, it looks proper on my mobile display) with fine grid sandpaper, then fiddled around alot with my DYMO label printer printing icons for the philips and slotted bits on transparent stripes. If you look closely, it is not perfect, but it works for me. I did not do rhis work with the wooden drills, because I  have 4/5/6/7/8/10mm in the holder with original printing for 4/5/5/6/8/10mm. I  will fix this later. Just wanted to share that it can be done  quite easily (if you can spare some time).

@vogel61, I surely could live with it. It is close to perfect.

Thanks for sharing!

So I talked to my customer who turned one bit holder around. He said he needed to reduce the diameter of one of the pivots to get it to work.
