However, I really don't see this as "goodwill" on their part . Honor your advertisement as it clearly wasn't out of the realm of what was reasonable.
Some Makita tools used to come is systainers. They now come in makpaks. Clearly THEY messed up THEIR advert.
I'm not accepting : "it's on the invoice either" What if they wrote NO WARRANTY ? Or decided to write double the advertised price on it? Or changed any of the other terms without disclosing them to you first
Would you be so accepting of those changes ?
Goodwill would be to have sent you a new makpak in good condition, not some orphan box that has the plague. If that's good enough , they should be proud to display it in their shop .
AN employee made a mistake, fair enough. We've all been there. You or you bosses have to own it and make good on that mistake when it happens though.
