So, how did you do that?  Where did you get the insert and lid picture?

That is the insert that comes with the newest (REQ)  ETS 125 (pro5), RTS 400 and DTS 400. It's universal and the slots on the right side are intended for sandpaper.
The ETS and RTS don't come in a sys I anymore.  They all come in a SYS 2.
The top insert comes with all three sanders.  The SYS3 I had lying around.

I've added the other two foam blocks since those photos.   The two upright sanders
bang into each other without them.   Finally, the DTS only fits like that without the edge guard on it.   


Sidenote: Dear Festool, I didn't buy your Centrotec set because I bought the T18
after you moved it from a size one to a size 2 systainer.   I put an attic lid on it,
and filled it and the rest of the wasted space inside of the systainer with centrotec stuffs and a gallon of insert bits.  I carry around an Eric Cartman weight systainer for
a 3lb drill.   Bonkers, I say.

Well, I'll be darned.  My Pro5 has that insert and lid card. 

Wonder if Festool was using subliminal marketing with their Pro5 promo?  I have an itch to fill those other two sander slots.

Ha! Good use of that insert if you have those sanders! Clever thinking!

I'm on it, I hate that each sander takes up a sys 2 I complained about it right away 

What Festool/Tanos really need to do is produce a Systainer height between the size of a I and a II.
It's kind of flipping obvious. :0

The only downside is the worry that the sanders sitting on their sanding pads might deform over time. You'll notice the intended spot for the sander holds the sander so the pad doesn't anything so it won't deform the pad.  If your sanding pad isn't flat it makes things harder.  This issue may takes years develop, or maybe it won't happen at all, I don't know.

  I haven't stored my smaller sanders vertically for years on end that way, but def. months can go by for some of them not being used, and aren't laying on their sides either while inactive.  Haven't seen any pad issues....yet......
 I think I worry more about LS 130 pads quietly decaying in a systainer and changing their color and composition like others have seen with them here on FOG.
 Makes me want to check my set tonight while I'm thinking about it as it's my least used sander...
