If you want custom LARGE FONT Systainer labels...
« on: September 11, 2017, 04:04 PM »
So I was glancing at a stack of systainers and wondering how to tell right away what was in a systainer other than looking at those tiny labels with those tiny fonts printed on them and I was wondering if anybody would be interested in quick identification of contents like in the pics.

I have the festool font and festool green and deep blackish blue colors to cut out individual letters in whatever size someone would want. I covered four sides of my two systainers and CT-48 too. These apply with just your fingers and are pre-spaced for you. I'm just seeing if there's an interest in this kinda stuff. These are self adhesive vinyl letters.

I can mail these in an envelope to anyone. I am trying to get a feel for how much $ they would be worth for a single systainer say for like four sides and maybe the top. The lettering could be customizable in whatever size you want and whatever you want them to say. If you have a single color rendering of your business logo I can do that too. I just made the festool label for myself. I don't want to offer any label that has "FESTOOL" on it so as to oblige the copyright but tool name and other text is open game.

I just put up a video of the application procedure....very easy. View it on YouTube below.

The last thing I would need is my name on them, it more that there are a bunch that all look the same the labels are gone. (but on a worksite a name would be good)
It is like discovering the state of Schrödinger's cat when I open a box.

I am interested.

Holmz, you win one systainer set for free since you are the first to show interest. I thought I would put my name on this sample to show you all that do on-site work that it would be important to mark a Systainer as your own with a name or company logo. Maybe even a phone number in case it's left behind.

I was thinking if you want a set of these stickers for a systainer, send me what you want it today and where and size and color and I'll make you up a free set. You have to agree to send me photos once on the boxes so I can let others know. PM your particulars....no $ involved for this free set. Thanks for your interest.

I wonder if the adhesive characters would remain glued to the surface of the systainers because it is not flat but rather "bumpy". I can imagine they start to loosen at the edges after a while. If there is no problem with that I'm interested. Sending them over to Europe would not be a very expensive because the would fit in an enveloppe, I guess.

Thanks for posting- great idea.  My tools usually remain in the shop, so the labels I would be interested in are the ones you show on the front of the systainer that shows the tool name/number.  Are they peel and stick?

Gerald

Labels look great. Personally, I'm not interested in them, however.

I am currently doing labels using the credit card plastic inserts. Print on office paper, bold lettering in a understandable code (eg RO15 with a line under it in smaller type — RO150; DOMI (DF500); RTS4 (RTS400); etc.). Works for me.

I was in the sign business for 9 years. This is outdoor vinyl. It's pliable and has been adhered quite nicely for some time now.  Good thinking though.

To all those who have been PM requests, I'll get right on them. And yes it's nice see at a glance large type for quick identification of box systainer contents. I agree the lil' card labels are not quick glance readable.

It's pretty much hold it where you want it and press all the letters are prespaced in one block area. I'll post a video of how quick and easy it is as soon as I figure out to post a video if possible...heehee

I would be interested. All depends on the price point.

I would be interested.  But as always of the price is right.  I don't even want to do the math if they are $10 each x 20...30...or more systainers.

But one idea I would REALLY be interested in is these same labels but sized to fit on the TLOC latch.  Another idea I had would be to make one to fit the latch that would read correctly and say Connected, Open, Locked, Locked.  I know it is not rocket science to figure it out, but it may save some time for those of us who are in and out of them frequently.

Either way, they are a good idea that we have all likely considered in some way shape of form.  And better than the ole sharpie trick!

I could become interested in just the tool labels if the price is right. Probably just a single label for the front of the Systainer.  [smile]

I'm thinking $5.00/box would be sufficient...that gets you four sides and something on the top with about as much text as shown in my pics. I think that's fair for my time preparing the custom text and weeding the labels and me paying to mail them to you. You pick the color, size, length and text of each word/label.

Let me know, thanks all.

I think $5 a box is good value.

I print labels using my computer and stick them on each side like you have done but yours look better.

My suggestion would be for you to offer 2 options, standard and custom. Standard would be either black or Festool green, standard size, standard length and just a simple DF 500 or ETS EC 125 nomenclature to identify the product from a distance on only one Systainer surface.

Custom would be otherwise.

I categorize my tools by latch color which is easily seen from across the room. For instance all 125mm diameter sanders are yellow, routers are white, Domino is black, Vecturo is orange ( [big grin] ).
So I'd only need one label on the front of the Systainer, nothing on the sides or top. I just want to identify the individual tool in the "colored latch" stack.
