Fein sells them as a SYS1 and SYS2, you'll have to get a Triton one to get it in a SYS3.

More info in this thread: http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-and-tanos-systainers/wanted-fein-tanos-orange-systainer!/

In the Netherlands these original Fein systainers are finally available.
I ordered a SYS 1 (33901146000) and SYS 2 (33901147000) and will receiving them this week.
Original Fein inserts are also available, like for the SuperCut in SYS 1 (33904541000) or cordless SuperCut AFSC18 in SYS 2 (33904542000).
If you need some dealers I can provide them.
In Germany there will also be dealers who can deliver them.
Shipping to the USA will not be cheap though.
How about Fein USA, have you informed them about the availability?

Anyone know where one could source the Fein SYS1/SYS2 that would ship to USA?

If you look back to February of this year, you will find where Wayne, aka WOW, was thinking of bringing in Orange Systainer 2 with black handles and latches with his order of mini Systainers for his "Mini First Aid Systainer" project. The thought was that since he was having the "minis" shipped to the U.S., he could also have the orange sys two's shipped in the same shipment.

After his research into getting the orange Systainer 2's, he determined that they would cost (I think I remember) $100 ea. with the re-boxing and shipping them all over the U.S.

At that time, there was not enough interest within the FOG members to pursue it any further. Wayne sent me a PM to tell me the deal was off because he and I were the only ones willing to pay the $100 price tag.

Wayne was a true gentlemen! He will be missed greatly by myself and everyone that knew him.

I've posted this info before but just incase you missed it, the SYS 2 pictured below can be special ordered from Lee Valley. It can take from 3 weeks to 3 months depending on when Lee Valley places their next order with Tanos. I believe the cost was just under $100 and that included shipping from Lee Valley. The Fein insert was extra.

Was the Fein insert from Lee Valley as well or elsewhere?  How much was that?

The Multimaster label inserts came with the SYS 2 or was that something extra as well?

The Fein insert was for an original style Systainer that I modified (very simple mod) to fit the T-Loc style. Can't remember where I purchased it. Same thing for the upper foam insert in the cover. I think both of the inserts were around $10 each.

Update:
I made the labels and printed them out.

I see there is a FEIN Multimaster insert for T-Loc II from Tanos, part # 80500037: https://www.kofferfunshop.de/en/deep-drawn-insert-fein-multimaster-for-systainer-t-loc-ii.html

I'd imagine Lee Valley would be able to order that with the Orange/Black T-Loc II as well.

Do you have the source file you used to do those labels and would be willing to share?

Toolnut is selling a multi master Systainer edition with an Orange Sys1.  Maybe they can get a Sys 2.

Checking on it... Lemme see what I can find out for you. I know the MM 350 Systainer Edition is very limited availability. Not sure if that's an indication of the Systainer availability, insert availability, or they just produced a small run of them. Will report back as soon as I find out for you guys.

Anyone else interested in one of the Fein Systainers if we can get them?

I would do a sys 2 with insert

Tanos only lists 1 fein insert and says its for t-loc2 (http://produktprogramm.tanos.de/index.asp?idart=326&idcat=88). Must be a custom one for the sys1 being used with the mm350 kit

Everyone, thanks for your patience while I waited for Fein to get back to me with the information about the orange Systainers. We're accepting preorders for these with an expected launch date in about a month according to Fein.

Fein Orange T-LOC Systainer, SYS 1

Currently, the inserts are not available but I'm also working to get those and will let you know ASAP when I have more info. Also, it looks like only the SYS 1 size is available.

Nothing on a SYS 2 currently. I suspect because the MM will fit in a SYS 1, so no need for them to have a larger size available.

Shane,

I currently have the dark grey Tanos Systainer with the insert for my MM, I think that is a SYS2. Is that correct? Do you know how well the MM fits in a SYS1?

Thanks,

Eddy, you can determine the size of your current Systainer by counting the number of horizontal lines under the label area. I know that Fein is offering the MM 350 as a special edition with a Systainer SYS 1 right now. So, presumably it fits just fine/fein.  [smile] But I admittedly have not seen it in person since they're still preorders right now.

Fein does offer a branded SYS 2.  They offer a cordless MM in it outside the US.  Here's an example from the UK site: http://www.fein-uk.co.uk/en_uk/oscillating/supercut-construction/afsc-18-wood-edition-0314664/

Tanos makes a Fein MM insert specifically for SYS 2 (http://www.amazon.com/T-Loc-2-Insert-FEIN-Multimaster/dp/B00GQZJT00) which would be a nice match with a Fein branded SYS 2.

I found this pic of the inside of a Fein MM SYS 1...

Looks like EPP to me, which isn't as nice as a rigid plastic insert like the Tanos one.  Wonder if Fein is custom making that insert, since the only place I've seen Tanos use EPP is lids of in the "cooltainers" for insulation.

I recall another member using a SYS 1 for their MM and saying it was a pretty tight fit, which is probably why most people are interested in a SYS 2.  Also probably why Tanos chose to go with a SYS 2 sized insert, not to mention, it can hold more stuff.

Did some more poking around...

Here's a SuperCut in a SYS 1 (for size reference)

And in this thread (where I got the pic) you'll see the a post from corpcarcollector who did the supercut + sys 1 route and said the lid was hard to close: http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-and-tanos-systainers/wanted-fein-tanos-orange-systainer!/

And I found this old thread from Seth, great idea and could be done with T-Loc's as well, since those inserts are available, but would have to order from ovesears and deal with shipping:  http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-and-tanos-systainers/multimaster-systainer-double-decker/

In the end, I purchased the orange Sys2 + insert when I was in NL last month. It was a hassle getting it back, but worth it (maybe).

I wish it was easier to get these things over here. Same can be said of all the other NAINA items (2m MFT side rails for example!)

They do offer a I & II in sky blue.  [unsure]

Sky blue is not for me.  I talked to Jessica from Woodcraft and she said she would work on getting some Sapphire Blue Systainers in.  Sapphire Blue are what the FOG Special Edition Systainers were with Festool T-Locs

Holy Amazon screen captures!   [eek]

Still waiting for a custom configuration tool before I purchase a solid 10 Systainers in tool-matching colors.  Buying T-Locs and handles in different colors from the case spikes that overall cost!

Systainers from the configuration tool have a hiked price too. So if you are only out for one different part; buy that part double, resell the other color part.

But close to $100 for an orange? Or even $76? That $76 better include shipping then!

The Fein 33901146000 sells for €39 including 19% VAT and shipping inside Germany (when you order at least three, or reach EUR 100 any other way). If sold from a German store, they could do the paperwork and not charge you Americans the 19% VAT, so they would be €32.77 (=$36). Shipping <2 kg to the US is ~EUR 25 ($28), or <5 kg for EUR 35 ($39)

Just curious @Shane Holland if it comes with the plastic insert & foam insert, if not, do you offer those 2 items for sale?

@Cheese, we have all of the foam inserts from Festool which are compatible with this. If there's a particular tool insert you're looking for, let me know and I'll see what we can do for you. Feel free to email if it's easier.

Awesome!

I was using my supercut today and didn't want to mess with trying to get the cord back in the sys1. I just ordered this sys2 with a few other things I needed, like the new Grex edge guide.

The SYS 2 is the charm...just coil up the cord and close the cover. I'm thinking about replacing my Fein 250 version with the newer 350 variant. The SYS 2 however is a must, so easy to use.

Here is my Frin sys 2 with my multimaster living in it with the tool compartments from the original fein box also moved in.

I found a white foam packaging block thrown away by someone on the path at my local Diy store. This needed little adjustment and works Fein lol. I also can fit my newly aquired festool plunge base and depth guage.

This is a useful thread for me, especially as I've just snagged a Multimaster Top kit at a very good price in the Black Friday sales.  Here's the link if you're in the UK and interested >>> https://www.mtmc.co.uk/Black-Friday-Weekend-Sale!/Fein-FMM-350-QSL-MultiMaster-Kit__p-12735392-106654.aspx

Just a quick update. We've had folks looking for the Fein MultiMaster insert for T-LOC Systainers. I have added it to the website and we are getting these ordered. They should be in stock soon.

Thanks,
Shane
