Systainer Doghouse

This I how I have been storing mine for a year or so and it has worked well for me. Just drilled some 20mm holes in kaizen foam that I cut to fit a mini Systainer.

What kind of bit did you use to cut the holes?

Hi Jesse,

Do you use the split collars on the rail dogs to elevate them to the board thickness you are cutting?  If so, that's a great idea.  Do you have a source for the 20mm collars?  Thanks

Amazon has 20mm aluminum split rings    Ruland MCL-20-A One-Piece Clamping Shaft Collar, Aluminum, Metric, 20mm Bore, 40mm OD, 15mm Width (Pack of 2)   $14.95

It was a 20mm bit, don't remember if I ended up using a router bit with my router, or a forstner bit on the drill press.

Yes, I use them to raise the rail. I got the collars from precision dogs when I ordered everything else.

You can order them from amazon as RST has suggested. Just make sure you order the ones with the relief opposite of the split or they are really hard to tighten enough.

As the title states, I like having dogs around. Even if they're only the Qwas and Parf type. Seeing as how I've collected a few, I figured I'd give them a nice home.

Using the 7/8" kaizan foam and a 3/4" forstner bit, it creates a nice friction fit to hold them in place. I may put some egg crate foam in the lids, but haven't had any of my "dogs" wander from their beds yet.
