Tanos part number 80600245

Where can I get one? Yes I know I can get the Festool version for $78 from Amazon, but where can I get one of these shown above? I should add, without spending a fortune. Thanks!

Not sure how much it will cost you, but Amazon.co.uk will ship to the states.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/SYS-MFT-Systainer-Organising-Container-Multifunction/dp/B00JVO1V9K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1453681770&sr=8-2&keywords=tanos
Thanks! I checked before posting and even used the photo from amazon uk above. It is $122 shipped. Since I can buy the same thing for $78 in another color it is not worth it to me.

Still hoping there is a anthracite one located somewhere in the USA to buy.

Did you try wood craft ? I'm pretty sure I can walk into the store and buy one off the shelf ?
I know I can with every other systainer in that color...

Ask them if they ship to the US;

https://www.gerschwitz.net/tanos-systainer-mutlifunktionstisch-sys-mft-anthrazit-nr-80600245.html

I guess it would come to around $135 for two of them

Keep in mind that you should not have to have pay the VAT of a European seller. German prices include 19% VAT, Dutch prices 21%, UK 20%

But since a lot of shipping rates increase at 2 kg and the Tanos is already 2 kg, it would make more sense to buy two at a time. Even if I were to buy two (including VAT), have them delivered within Europe and ship them to you, it would be around $170 for two

If you happen to be in the store take a look would you please. It is not on their website.

I called Woodcraft today. That was a disappointment. "Oh I don't know how to look stuff up. You will have to call back when someone can help you from customer service". "I have the part number"...

Will have to call back when someone can help me, but it doesn't look good.

My German isn't good enough to even attempt to place an order.  [unsure]

The photo of the store packed with tools is incredible. My local Festool dealer is a lumber yard and stocks minimum Festool equipment.

I was kinda hoping a vendor in the USA would step up and say "I got one for ya!" I'm not window shopping I am ready to pull the trigger. Oh well, it might have to say Festool on it. Right now my case for clamps etc says Milwaukee. I doubt I'll use it for much more than a Systainer for my clamps, but for a minor job somewhere, it may just come in handy as a mini MFT.

If you really want I can just buy them and ship them to you  [wink]

Besides; pretty much all Germans can read English perfectly fine.

EDIT: Kofferfunshop(.de) offers shipping to the US by default, but they start with the 20 kg rate, which is nonsense.

Yup, the way to do it is order several by weight. The weights are given in the descriptions. You will pay the same shipping for however many up to the weight increment. Then it will add the next weight increment. Also when ordering from the USA deduct the 19% VAT that is included in the prices shown. If you set up an account , log in, the system will detect your USA address and price everything accordingly in the cart.

Yeah, but €64,82 minus VAT = € 54,47 which is still more than what other sellers ask including VAT.
The white Festool one can be bought for €46 including shipping and VAT inside Germany.

I would just email Gerschwitz and ask them if they can ship to the US. Some Germans are very accommodating towards non-standard things, some others can be highly bureaucratic.

Just offer them $50 to ship two of these things VAT-free. Shipping from Germany is not as expensive as from the Netherlands, and even here it's ~€35 to ship 2-5 kg to the US.

When I ship stuff to the UK or to some mainland Europe country, I usually hop the border and ship it from Germany. You see; DHL Germany bend over backwards in accommodating me in getting a DHL account and Goldcard. Now I just can't change my password, because they force-fed my Dutch address in their system, which gives an error when I attempt to change my password. With that DHL card, I can ship and receive packages from/in a DHL Packstation; an computerized, unmanned 'vault' that's conveniently located on a parking lot, just across the border. In the Netherlands that wouldn't work (because vandalism), but in Germany it works just fine.

Very generous offer, but it is not that important to me, to put you out over a color. I will just order up a Festool one in a couple of days if nothing comes about in the USA.

German? My mom is Finnish yet speaks Swedish, so we were taught that. I learned Spanish growing up working on the farm during cherry harvest season. Took Spanish for two years in high school too. Now if I don't learn French I am going to be in big trouble, as our wedding this summer is going to be in French...and I am really struggling. "What do you call someone who only speaks one language?" "American." My dad was stationed in Germany, and spoke German. He loved it there.

Your wedding is in French (as in; you speak French during your wedding) or in France (as in; in the country called France)?  [tongue]

So you have it even easier. Just order the MFT Systainers delivered to your party place in France, then take 'm with you on the plane when returning to the US  [cool]

We are getting married by a French speaking judge in the USA, and her family is coming over from France, but that is not until this summer. We won't go to France, until 2017.

Even better; let her family bring over some Systainers.  [tongue]

But good luck with your French. I had it five years in school and all I felt confident to do after that was asking for and giving directions. German language went a lot better. French is easiest to understand when not spoken by a French person.

Now, years later, I remember even less from those five years of French lessons. They only thing French in day to day life was the ingredients list on the Shampoo bottle, but I stopped using that  [smile]

I've had plans for years to improve my German though. I don't want to depend on the treasonous media to follow news form Germany. After that; Russian  [tongue]

"What do you call someone who only speaks one language?" "American."

I know this was partially a joke having been posted on a forum that only has posts in American.  Woulda been funnier, maybe even ironic, had you posted that in another language.

All joking aside, I think, as an American, I only speak English because I am stupid.  :)

Don't you have the need to learn Arabic too? The USA and other Nato countries have made a lot of news worthy enemies that pop their heads up shooting and bombing in countries around the world *sigh*

Simple fact, "There are more people in China who speak English, than there are American's".

All joking aside, I think, as an American, I only speak English because I am stupid.  :)
Has more to do with the fact that English is the most common universal language, so there is no need to learn another language...unless you live in Texas or California and should be learning Spanish, since it IS the second language. I don't speak other languages very well at all.

American's as a society are by no means the smartest people on this earth, they just like to think so ;)

Now about that systainer...

Seth

I was just funnin' around.

I don't have a sys-MFT so I'm wondering...

Can a normal systainer be modified to become one?  Say Op were to make a MDF top, could you cut up the lid and "graft in" the MDF and get really close or is the MFT top a unique mold/cast?

All good by me too  [big grin]

The SYS-MFT has been "made" by a few people. I do believe that is how Festool got the idea in the first place. Either the entire top lid has to be home made or you can add a top of MDF to it. Unfortunately if you add to the top you will loose the ability to lock systainers together which is exactly what I want. Cutting into and modifying the top is possible, but since I didn't have a systainer to store my clamps in to begin with, I might as well order on ready to go, which made the most sense to me. Who knows how much I will actually use the systainer as an MFT table?

So I ordered one with the Festool name on it. Should be here next week.

Also grabbed a sys 4 to put my OF2000 into since they were closed out without systainers.
