Ok, you were all right. You never stop at just one sander! But now I have them I don't know what I'd do without them. I have an ETS400 an RO150 plus dust extractor and after trying the cleaning tools of my brother in laws extractor today I'm currently bidding on a second hand set on Ebay  it never ends. But I need another one and could do with some advice/opinions as money is an issue as always. I want it for detail on doorways and rebates, plus stair spindles and bannisters, and window nooks and crannies. So which would you recommend? The LS130 looks expensive and also like I'd have to have several pads, I hate to think how much they are, whereas the Delta just looks gorgeous but would it be any good for staircase spindles? Thank you in advance Kate (who sadly is looking forward to going to work tomorrow as it a whole day of sanding) take me out and shoot me!  |

I think you should take a look at the new RO90. It's a mini Rotex and delta sander all in one.

The Deltex has effectively been superceded now, by the brand new RO90. It's a bit more money (there's a surprise!) but it has 4 functions, all of which would I suspect be of use to you. Alternatively, if money's an issue, I've just put details of my DTS400 on the classifieds section...  |

+ one for the new RO90, if you can wait. Who know when it will be available in the USA? It is the next sander I plan too buy. Plus a bunch of abrasive to go with it. original plan was to stay with just the 150 size so I only would need to buy that size disk. Now I'am learning that was very short sighted.

I do a lot of paint jobs and I'd say the Deltex is invaluable. It's a very good sander that will come in handy in a lot of situations. I would say, forget about the LS130.
But just like others said above, the Deltex has become more or less outdated with the arrival of the new Ro90. Or at least in theory.

Thank you for all your advice. It's ?400!!! Twice the price of the delta but I can see why. It's a thing of beauty. Where can I buy such a delight in the UK? Frankly if it's that good I could sell the other two to compensate. Or at least the ETS which is really not my favourite, very noisy, more vibration than the others.

Small question: in your original post, you state you have an ETS 400 - what kind of a sander is that? it may well be that the model has vanished from the Dutch site in the overhaul to the new "look" but I'm only familiar with the RTS 400, the DTS 400, and several ETS-'s, but none of them 400.
The Only ETS sanders I've encountered are RO type sanders and they don't really match the "noisy, more vibration" descrition. The ETS 125 can be a bit rough around the edges, but that's gone after sufficient break-in.
My RTS 400 ( same powerpack ) was a bit uncivilised as well, but after about 10 hours of service it smoothed out nicely, and I wouldn't want to be without it.

On page eleven of the http://www.festool.co.uk/Campaigns/spring-2010/Documents/FESTOOL_PAINT_small.pdf document the talk about a integrated vacuum hoes and Plug-it cord. That was a long time in coming. That was one of the first things I did what I got my CT22. I Velcroed the plug-it cord to the vacuum hose. |

That's me being an eejit. I've got an ETS 150/3 and an RS400. The RS is annoying me, too much vibration and very loud by comparison to the ETS. I also think the ETS should have been a 5 not a 3 but it's a great sander so I'm not parting with it. Need something to do more course sanding.

Just looked on the Fixy site & saw the banner for the open day they had on the 5th. If I'd known about it, I'd have come over  It wasn't on the Festool site, as I'd been keeping an eye on that to find somewhere I could see the new tools. Presumably they weren't updating the old site whilst they got the new one ready... |

Hi Weetbix, David has told me that ALL the new stuff will be in stock this coming week. (including my Kapex base, or he is in deep stuck) They have never let me down yet. Jonny Next open day they have i will let you know and you can come over. They do a mean bacon butty at these events. The one I had last Wednesday only cost me about ?600 quid  . Slingers Aka Fixy could be a possible venue for training,In The North West< if it comes off. Regards to you both John |

Hi John No, I had a call from my local dealer. They're going to lend me a demo model this week plus there'll be 25 of each abrasive with the new one when it arrives, probably Friday. Will let you know how I get on with it. Apparently it's selling like the clappers. Thanks everyone for the recommendation, I'd have been well hacked off if I'd bought a delta the week this came out!
