Due to popular demand, here's another doors and drawers class. Please note that the Super Bowl is the night before this class. We would like to avoid last minute cancellations by any football fans. Also, two attendees have already been confirmed for this class, leaving 4 spaces.

Sign up now!

Course Description:
As the next step in the development of Festool end-user focused classes, we are calling for entries for a 2-day class focused on the construction of various styles and types of cabinet doors and drawers, utilizing the Festool System.    The class will take place at our headquarters in Lebanon, IN, and will be primarily geared towards professional applications.

In this class, the tools and techniques necessary to build and install shop-quality doors will be covered, with emphasis on Shaker flat panel, slab w/ applied molding, faux raised panel, and cope and stick with raised panel.  Door styles to include inset, overlay and half-overlay.

Drawer box applications will focus on both inset and overlay styles, using blind and through-tenon construction.  Dovetail drawer construction will be discussed, but not covered.

Though participants will walk away with a range of broadly applicable skills, the class will be primarily focused on pro-oriented techniques and applications.  From raw material to finished boxes ready for finish, you will learn how to work faster, easier, and smarter with the Festool System.

Since most of the two days will be spent in the shop, actually using the tools, we request that registrants have some previous knowledge of the Festool System, and/or the basics of trim carpentry or cabinet construction.   Safety is an extremely high priority in this setting, and we have billed this as an intermediate to expert level class since this class will be almost all hands-on.

Safety glasses and earplugs will be required during all tool use.  In addition, participants will be asked to sign a standard liability waiver at the outset of class.  If this presents a problem, please let us know beforehand, since this will impact our ability to allow you to work with the tools.

How do I apply and how are participants selected?
If you are interested in participating, please click here to complete this online survey, and provide a few details about yourself.  If you have applied for previous end-user training events, you will need to re-apply for this one.  Attendees are accepted on a first-come basis.

We will notify selected participants (as well as a handful of alternates) by email. The one thing we ask of our selected participants is that you arrive on time and stick around for the full two days.

Travel and Accommodations:
Participants are responsible for all travel and accommodations.  We will be glad to help you make hotel reservations at our preferred local establishment (Fairfield Inn on 86th Street in Indianapolis).  And for those participants staying at the Fairfield Inn, Festool will arrive for pick-up on both days at 7:30am.

Festool will provide basic refreshments (bagels and coffee) in the morning at our HQ, and lunch will be provided both days.

Since some of the best conversations happen outside of the classroom, we will plan either a cookout or a group dinner on the first night following class.

Greg, it will definitely be available in Vegas. Just not sure when. Probably not until the second quarter of the year.

I'm holding out for warmer weather.  Would hate to drive - versus fly - and get stuck with darling wife and Goldie and MacGyver in a blizzard.  Besides, if I showed up at a class before the Fogtainers were gone - I might get  Beating a dead horse or  Ban.

Hope all you guys love the whole experience!

The tools in my truck were talking the other day.  The Dewalts, PC's, Boschs, Makitas were not happy.  They also were in the minority.  Their complaint:  They felt unused and unappreciated since the Festools moved in.  I guess the truth hurts.

Peter,

On the other hand, after all the Fogtainers trouble, you deserve to play learn for two days.
I can wait a couple more days for my two Fogtainers.

+1.  I figure if MacGyver can deal with all of those boxes for another few days, I don't mind waiting.   Big Grin

Maybe after all of the Fogtainer stress, she might like to have a few days without Peter.
And I am sure that after spending a couple of days playing learning, Peter would reduce his stress level.

Not sure about MacGyver though.  He would probably miss his dad.

I'll pass the request on to Steve, but it's his call. It will depend largely on his schedule.

Ok, folks, I'm surprised to say this but there's still one space available in this class. The first doors & drawers class filled in less than 10 minutes. Here's your opportunity if you didn't make it into the first one.

Okay, now that the second Doors & Drawers class has ended, when will there be any pictures and reports from participants?

Did the weather improve enough so that the participants could make use of the Festool pool this week?

Did Steve Bace make a return trip to Lebanon for the second D&D class?

Fascinated FOG members want to know!
