Hi

can anyone please list the festool parts I'd need to connect a CT22 to a wonderfence and a table mounted Triton router?    Apologies for what might be an obvious question but the Festool websites are a bit short on the details needed to buy the parts with confidence, and a search of the FOG site doesn't reveal an answer.

The Triton router's dust shield can use the 27mm hose tool connector.  The Wonderfence has a fitting that accepts 2-1/2" dust collection hose on the outside or a 2-1/4" shop vacuum hose on the inside, so a non-Festool hose would work.

I can't be the first person in the world top do this, so I hope someone has the answer.

many thanks

Stephen

Hi,

I think the easiest and least expensive thing to try is... Get a Y splitter either the Festool 452898 or the Fein (see this thread http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-jigs-tool-enhancements/cheaper-and-better-alternative-to-the-festool-vac-y-adapter/

Use the D27 hose for the Triton, and a regular plan old shop vac hose for the fence. Non Festool 2 1/4" hoses such as Shop Vac brand will fit the Festool CT inlet with out modifying.

I don't know how the collection will be or if it will maintain enough suction / air flow to collect well from both at the same time for this set up. But it would not be a big investment to test it out. Especially if you happen to have a  2 1/4" hose already.  If it works and you want , you could add the larger Festool hose later.

I'm using a 2 1/2 inch hose that came with my Trend T30.

Take the elbow off the wonderfence and try it on the end of a couple of hoses in a shop - most will fit.  The Festool extrator inlet is a friction fit and very forgiving of random hose connectors.

I just completed dust collection on my Triton router and Kreg router fence this weekend.  I will post pics in a couple of hours, I have a doctor appointment in a bit so after that.  The short of it is I used a 2 1/2 Y from Woodcraft, and short piece of 1 1/4 hose from one side of the Y to the Triton and shop vac hose from the other side of the Y to the Fence.  I just attach the hose from my shop vac to one port on the router table and I'm good to go.  I had to loosen the screws on the plastic dust port of the triton to get the hose threaded into it then just tighten the screws back down and it's solid.  Oh and it all works very well.  Now if I could just get that kind of dust collection from my Dewalt portable table saw, it puts just as much on the ground as it does down the hose.

The first pic shows the 1 1/4" hose going to the Triton router.

This pic shows the "Y" to branch out to the fence and router.

Another shot of the "Y".  The piece on the right hand end of the "Y" is one of those rubber step reducers which I had to heat to stretch it over the 2 1/2" Y piece.  The other end is a shop vac accessory I had laying around, it was a tight fit over the Y but it went.

The last pic shows the end of the cabinet where I plug in my shop vac.  Could it be made to work with my festool vac.....it would only take one more reducer to fit my festool hose.
