Kreg:
Great videos!
In video 6b, do those pants you are wearing have padded knees?
There was a speech bubble just as you knelt down but it was black type on a navy background so you can't read it.
Thanks for sharing all your work.

Shouldn't you get some sponsorship or something for all the referrals you give?

I am doing this to help everybody learn from me as I have learned from others I always like to share .

I get referrals from customers who are glad to help a friend find someone who can help them. So I am glad to help the companies who I have found that make great stuff!

And I am having fun making  um as this is how I rock and roll everyday!

So enjoy more on there way!

It's this attitude that our industry needs to celebrate more. have pride in what you do! Show someone something some day and they may come back later and show you something unbelievable later on.

Extra Thumbs up just for saying that Kregger!

Kreg,

I've been having that same problem with the Kreg (any relation?) pocket hole clamp. It seems to be clamped in good, then just releases. I'm always worried about over-tightening it due what I perceive as a "short grain" situation when it's putting that much pressure just on the pocket.

Fritter, there's no relation, but here's how it all came about.

Craig Sommerfeld was driving through Huntersville, North Carolina in search of more beadboard.  He came across a guy in his truck, getting jiggy to some loud Springsteen he was playing.  He found the man very interesting, especially with the beadboard paneling adhered to the entire truck body.  He went up to him and introduced himself as a carpenter and tool maker only to find this rockin and rollin guy was also a carpenter named Kreg McMahon.  They struck up a long conversation and deal that Craig would make this jig, use Kreg's name and pay him nothing, however he would buy Kreg a newer 8-track player for his truck.

The End.

*And before you guys say, "Who drives through North Carolina looking for beadboard?"  It's possible.

I have had to use the clutch on my drill to not strip the screws out of the piece.

I'm loving this series too.  There is a cabinet installer here who has a great way of scribing to walls, but he is shy.  I will tell you this, when he described his method to Brian in a training class, Brian was looking around and wiggling like he does when he gets excited.   Scared Just like I would pay to go to Festool classes, I would pay to watch him install cabinets.

This was not meant to take away from Kreg.  I love Kreg.  Would love him more if I had autographed beadboard though. Big Grin

The tools in my truck were talking the other day.  The Dewalts, PC's, Boschs, Makitas were not happy.  They also were in the minority.  Their complaint:  They felt unused and unappreciated since the Festools moved in.  I guess the truth hurts.

Hey Kreg,

Again, nice work.

Maybe I missed it, but how do you attach the beadboard on the uppers - to the cabinet back or to the wall?  Is it sheet beadboard or the individual tounge-and-groove boards that you use?

Thanks,
Corey

Hey Kreg,

This series is awesome!!!  I love all of the how-to and it is great to see how you do certain operations.  I have never routed a round over vertical like you did -- I usually clamp the piece horizontally.

One of the things I think I am enjoying most is just the raw footage -- it's kind of refreshing seeing things that would be edited out of a TV show and I appreciate seeing how you deal with certain issues like the clamps that loosen up on you.  You love what you do and this comes through loud and clear in the videos, making them even more fun to watch.

Great job on all of this...I would like to see you install the actual cabinet and I am not sure if you have any footage of scribing the cabinets to the wall or if you had to do that in this installation.

Keep it up!

Hi Kreg, thanks for the video series. it has been great - I picked up a few tricks.

But I did notice in part 6a where the drill bit fell of after you drilled a pocket hole from the festool drill. I did read somewhere before that this was an issue with some versions of the normal chuck. Do you or anyone else know if that was fixed in any of the later T12 or T15 drills. Reason I ask is that I am either looking to purchase one of the closeout C12s or possibly a T series and wanted to make sure that I had no regrets later on.

Thanks, Bijesh

Bijesh,  that does happen from time to time but no big deal. The drills are awesome. My t-15 is about 1 year old so I do not now if any changes have been made since then. But if you give it an extra turn it is fine

Get one of the C12s on closeout. It's a great deal and the best way to enter the Festool drill world at a reasonable price. I grabbed one a few months ago and love it.

Kreg, please don't stop at video #10!

Continuing to really enjoy the videos - I can see why you're successful, Kreg - You have a great enthusiasm for your work and a personality that I think makes customers feel comfortable having you in their house.

Pardon me if I missed it, but how is your beadboard installed in the backs of the units?

Just to let you know, I've used my new LS-32 hole drilling system on my first built-in, and it worked like a charm.   Unbelievable accuracy and speed, which don't normally go together!   I wouldn't have dared do something like this without your videos...so thank you!

I have some questions on Dominos and built ins...but I will save them for another thread!

Your videos are greatly appreciated Kreg, as was all your help in selecting tools. You were the deciding factor in getting me to switch to Festool.  Thumbs Up

I am sure once I complete my next 2 orders in the next week or 2, I'll account for about a 3rd of that!  Scared But I'm excited, and greatly appreciate all your calls and emails. Your a class act! We'll need to have a few beers at JLC, I should make it again this year. Maybe you can hook me up with some lessons there! Big Grin

Again, thanks, I hope Festool takes notice and hooks you up with something, without your insight, I would probably steered clear again.

Thanks again, their service was excellent!
