Today I finally was able to make some shelves in the storage room using all me new tools. First time use of the T55, MFT/3, PS 300 and the Domino. All I can say is wow. I have a lot to learn but it was a fun day. I am a little down about my drill though. Just discovered that the eccentric chuck will not hold the centrotec bits. I purchased the installer set so I would have everything I needed. Looks like its back to the store. Am I missing something?

The offset attachment will not accept the centrotec bits, but will accept common 1/4" bits. You did not miss anything.

The tools in my truck were talking the other day. The Dewalts, PC's, Boschs, Makitas were not happy. They also were in the minority. Their complaint: They felt unused and unappreciated since the Festools moved in. I guess the truth hurts.

Using a centrotec bit in the eccentric chuck kind of defeats the purpose of that chuck. Why make a chuck that can fit as closely as possible to a wall and then widen it again by mounting a centrotec chuck on it?

As Alex said if you were able to use a centrotec bit in the offset chuck you would have to use a centrotec chuck which would defeat the purpose of the offset chuck. Just get some regular hex bits, throw them in your installer's kit and you're good to go

I know how to solve the problem. Just a little disappointing after dropping all the cash on the setup. Festool could have included a small set of bits like the short bits that came in the kit or put an indent on the kit bits to work in the quick release of the eccentric chuck.

What kind of bits do you mean exactly? Driver or drill bits? Both, I really like the long drivers. |
