Hi everyone I am new here and this is my first post. I just purchased a few Festools and I want to get one of the routers next. I think I am leaning towards the OF1010 as I make guitars and I would mainly use it for plunging for the cavities and precise inlay work. I have a rigid router that I will use in my table for the 1/2" bits.

I want to make a extended base plate for my inlay work and I am getting some 1/2" acrylic templates made and I would like to have a cad file of the OF1010 and the OF1400 base plates so I can locate the screw holes for the base plate as I am also going to locate the holes for my rigid.

I am really excited about my purchase of a MFT3,TS55,PSB300EQ,ETS125EQ and a CT36E. I also got with the deal FS1080 and FS1400 tracks and a load of sand paper that will last me along time. I have been reading this forum for about a month now and find it very helpful and educational. I got the festool bug after looking at the dust extraction system. I do alot of routering both by hand and table work and you know how much dust they make. Looking forward to the router purchase!

Hi Dawgwalker,

 Welcome!

I haven't seen anything freely available in terms of detailed base schematics for the routers, but also try asking the question in the "Ask Festool" part of the forum. If anyone can get you this info, Shane can.

Nice haul of booty you're getting.

Please don't hold back showing us some of the guitars you've made - quite a few of us on here love guitars ... and unlike me, some can probably even make them sound pretty good!

Nice to see a guitar builder here. Love to play them. For the cavaties on the body the OF1010 will do nicely, but he OF1400 could also work. But for inlays you might want to think about a palm router.
