Hello everyone, this is my first post on the FOG forum, but i have been quietly reading for a while now. I come from the land of Festool (Germany) living in Munich/Bavaria, a city, that is perhaps best known of its Oktoberfest. Recently i got my new MFT/3 and some QUAS dogs and Rail dogs a friend of mine made for me. To enhance the MFT i screwed my Rail dogs to my Incra LS Positioner, that regularly sits on my router table. Two Rail dogs stick through the MFT holes and make the Incra Positioner a very handy tool to shorten my sheetgoods. It is installed within two minutes on the MFT. Nice Fred, only comment I would make is that your setup will give you parallel but not square cuts. Maybe you could take off the fence, mount it on a separate set of dogs, then use a spacer where your LS fence was to keep your measurements accurate. The LS fence could replace the stock MFT fence, you would just want to find a way to extend it under the rail for added stock support.

Very nice job!!! I agree with the previous post and you may want to look at some Qwas dogs or stops to prevent having the board slip when cutting.
The dogs / stops along with an adjustment to square up your incra will guarantee square / accurate cuts

Hello Kevin,
the Incra fence is adjusted flush with the Festool rail, which itself is adjusted with QUAS dogs to be parallel to the MFT holes.
When i cut a panel, it is pressed to a pair of QUAS dogs which is oriented perpendicular to the Incra fence.
This way the cuts are pretty square (measured with a Starrett combination square).
I use a separate pair of Rail dogs for the Incra fence. It is permanently mounted to the Base.
My router table also has a pair of holes in the MFT raster. So i can install the Incra fence the same way as on the MFT with equally high precision.
For narrow parts, a jig made of a thin horizontal board dominoed to a vertical board that is screwed to the fence, reaches beneath the Festool rail. That works very well with the scale on the Incra adjusted appropriately.
Advantage of the Incra fence in respect to the Festool fence are the quick and repeatable settings without the need to really measure.

I notice a block of wood attached to the Plastic fence support with what looks like a anglepoise lamp fixed to it.
Could you show some photos of this little gismo. it looks great.

You could always just slide the positioner over a little bit, and use the fence that comes with the MFT. This is such an elegant solution, I have the set of qwas dogs, but never once thought to try it. Brilliant!

Welcome Fred ! I was trying to make some space and found an Incra fence I purchased about 18 years ago and never used ... I was just thinking about doing something useful with it when I read this thread ... The new Incras look very nice  |

Hello ART at WORK, that is a five-minutes-jig, i made because i can't get enough light in some situations. It is in fact only a piece of wood with two holes drilled in it. One to stick the foot of the lamp through it and one to fix the jig to the Festool fence clamp. The beauty of this simple jig is, that you can fix the lamp to the MFT wherever you want in nearly no time. Sometimes i use a lamp with an integrated magnifier glass, when i have to deal with tiny things  .   |

I'm considering doing this. Any updates on this? Was there a particular reason you decided to try this? What was the problem you were trying to solve?
How do you cut pieces that are less than the width of the rail?
