MFT mounted clamp / dog storage
« on: February 29, 2016, 01:16 AM »
After many shop made boxes and modified baskets to keep my MFT clutter free I still had the dilemma of 'where on earth do I store this basket'

The domino systainer caught my eye and I felt a little mod was in order.

Everything fits nicely, 4 quick clamps or screw clamps fit in one box with the tab set all the way to one side.

Now everything can go back in the systainer when transporting from site to site. Thought I should share!

Nice, I like how the boxes hold the small stuff in place.

I went a different route. Took a SYS-MFT and swapped the lid onto a systainer 3. When making a holey top on the CNC I used the test holes to make a dog holder in the back of the case so they didn't get knocked together in transit. I need to get a small bucket to hold the little parts.

What size t-bolts are you using to mount that bin to the side of the MFT? Are they 5/16th? Do you have to modify them at all to fit well?

Hey sorry, Didn't see this comment. They are 1/4 20 T-Bolts. I purchased a couple of 1/4 20 jig & fixture sets from lee valley, they are a great value and I have used up most of the parts in both kits. No grinding required in the MFT but they do have to be ground down a little if you want to slide them into the t-tracks on the festool rails. Most hardware stores also sell t-bolts in the plumbing section as 'toilet bolts' they are usually brass however.,43455,61994&ap=1
