Thanks.

The Wixey is like $60 and I believe the Bosch is like $160 or so. The Bosch is a little bit bigger. But the Wixey works out fine for me. Certainly good to have one around...for a host of things.

I have no idea why it's listed at 399.  The price is more like 170 or so...

If I did not I already own one...  then the Wixley would interest me.

Yeah, I can only imagine that that's a misprint at $399. Or, it could be that Amazon no longer carries it and that $399 price is what a 3rd party vendor is charging.

The Wixeys go on sale alot. I got mine during a sale that included the larger and the smaller one together....not a two for one price, but reduced.

There's another one listed underneath it, says it's a newer model and sells for $158.

Wow!!

What an amazing set of posts.  The range of alternative solutions was just amazing. Thanks to all for the great info and advice.

PS:  Just for your info I found yet one more alternative.  18 x 10 steel square for $65.  .0002 accuracy.

I think the company that makes them guarantee them?  Pinnacle makes those squares and they are out of Cleveland Ohio.  Woodcraft tried to tell me that they only make those squares for Woodcraft stores but woodpeckers sells them also but they are red instead of black..

Dave

did you know that Pinnicle makes a router top for the MFT here is the old thread  http://festoolownersgroup.com/index.php?topic=2462.0;all

Craig

I am using that on main router table right now. It is nice but eats up floor space.
