Supercut with Festool Vecturo plunge attachment. It works!
« on: September 13, 2014, 09:31 AM »
Unless I am doing something wrong, there is one catch. The bump on the bottom of the Supercut stops the attachment from rotating all the way to the forward position. As far as I know, the Vecturo doesn't have that bump.

However, it is easily solved by just moving it to that position and then attaching the metal collar adapter to fit the guide.

That's good to know. I bought the Supercut in a systainer when the price dropped. How does one go about purchasing the depth stop in NA?

My corded Supercut has not such a bump so the Festool plunge attachment should fit.

How come an American has the Vecturo already, it's only available for 2 weeks now in Europe?
Normally it takes at least 1-1½ years before it hits your shores.

The bump may be unique to the cordless version.  I have a corded version that's a few years old, no bump.

Just curious Hogarth.
Do you use some kind of transformer with the Vecturo?
Because until now it's only available in 240V-50 Hz and inthe UK version in 110V-60 Hz.

Now I'm wondering if any of these Fein Supercut acc. will fit Vecturo?

* fein bow-handle us.pdf (509.21 kB - downloaded 801 times.)

* fein dust exrtr. set us.pdf (496.96 kB - downloaded 656 times.)

* fein dust extr. device us.pdf (500.89 kB - downloaded 590 times.)

One thing that I could see as useful on the Vecturo would be a swivel on the plug-it socket like the Carvex..

Paul,  I think the Multimaster has a totally different collar housing.

I just called Fein and the technician said they have tried to fit the Vecturo plunge attachement to the Fein Supercut (with the cord line) and it works.
Can anyone confirm he has done it ?
Thank you

For those of you who don't use the German Werkzeug News forum.
Here are some pictures of the latest Fein FMM350 with the Festool Vecturo attachments.
Never thought these attachments should also fit the Multimaster, only the SuperCut.
The only problem, if there is any, that these attachments cost a lot when bought separately.
Depth stop at €59 incl. VAT
Plunge Base at €120 incl. VAT

Sweet sweet sweet! I'm stoked, I was really wanting the 350. BECAUSE of the reduced vibration,mi was at Woodcraft yesterday and played with the 250 and 350 they didn't have the 400 in at the time but the 350 is quieter and is a little easier on the hands than the 400 according to the rep there. And the Vecturo is supposedly the Super anyways and has the harder from end as opposed to the free floating housing. Thanks for this!!

Amazingly different. The floating head on the 350 is unbelievable. Plus it is noticeably quieter. It's still loud just not as loud as the 250. Truthfully Sean, I might go with the 350 set as opposed to the 400 or Vecturo. For me, if the price comes down, with the DC, it's totally worth it.

does this attachment fit the 250 ? i have soooo many of these blades and am reluctant to switch over and spend for the festool. the problem with getting the super cut is using the plunge with the venturo and using fein blades, is 1/2"away from the magnetic stabilizer.

Well, the attachment fits MM 250 and MM350, but, as far as MM 350 is in question, there will be about 2 mm gap between a Festool plunge base magnet and an installed blade surface. So... Yes it fits, but check how it sits.

Vecturo "inherited" from it's "father" Supercut that well-thought small twoscrewed ( [big grin]) platform for attachment fixing/holding. So far, it's the only way/departure point for custom made decisions a la Multimaster.

There are two types of dust collectors for the supercut.
One is for circular blades and the other I think is for the straight blades.
The part number is 92602075018   DUST EXTRACTOR - SUPER CUT
I am not sure how the above is attached though.
Does anyone have one and can show a picture of the fixed on dust extractor?
It will be nice if this can fit the Vecturo.
Thanks.

The attachment №  92602075018 features in this video:

At 5:52 one can see it's been fixed by "Omega"-shaped hooks that, in their turn, anchor the dust extractor to the SuperCut ventilation "windows". It can well be, it'll fit to Vecturo perfectly, since their shapes are similar. [huh]
But it'll be dust extraction a la SuperCut, not a la MultiMaster.

Looks like the dust collection attachment would interfere with other accessories such as the plunge attachment.

Thanks but I think this is 92602084010   DUST EXTRACTOR SUPER CUT
and not attachment №  92602075018 which looks like its for rectangular cutters and not round cutters.

I am bringing this thread up again as things may have changed with the new Starlock blades. I have a couple of questions regarding the compatibility of the plunge base:

-Will the plunge base also fit for the new starlock multimaster? Has anyone tried this? How large is the gap in between the magnet and the blade?
-Does the plunge base fit without the gap on the supercut or does this also has the small gap between the base and blade?

I have the Supercut and the Festool plunge attachment works perfectly unless you are using the adapter to use the regular multimaster blades.  The adapter holds the multimaster blades out further than the magnet on the plunge attachment.  The plunge attachment does not fit the regular multimasrter...the drive heads are not the same.

Hmmm, sounds like I need to let go of my Fein and get the Vecturo if I want the capabilities of the depth stop and plunge base which are both great accessories in my view.

If I recall correctly, a depth-stop is available from Fein directly. But the plunge base is Festool only...  [sad]
