I had to mount it "creatively" so that I could use the holes in my Makita. The creativity involved adding a 1-1/2" block on my sawhelper base and drilling a hole throgh. As for if it works YES! dust goes into a box at the bottom and does not spray all over the jobsite. I got my from Richelieu Canada but it's listed on their site: http://www.fastcap.com/products.aspx?id=3802, I think it cost $125CDN. I had it with a bunch of drawer slides, glue, etc... for a job.

I hooked up my Fein dust extractor (I know Iknow it's and evil word at FOG) and the chop saw still spewed the dust into the Fastcap sawshop saw hood. The hood works.

I got the chop shop hood a few weeks ago and for some unknown reason I haven't use it yet. What Makita saw do you have, I have 1214 and the sawhelper. A few pics of your solution would be great.

Now it's the Makita LS1214 & Sawhelper & Chopshop sawhood club.

Someone asked for photos, a couple of weeks ago and I'm set up in a customers house again.

I see yours is the new black powder coated one... I've got to get another one of the drop stops.

One thing about the hood, is when your on the deck and the son stops shining and the wet stuff comes, the saw is less shocking, it also works as a rain cover.

The dust cover in a good wind looks like it could make a great spinnaker ......
