Today I cut a 1 1/4" granite with my saw in a finished showroom practically dust free!  It cut through with absolutely no problems, I did have to rig up a dust shield to increase dust extraction but no bigee.   Talk about getting ooohed and ahhhed by the employees who have seen this done without dust control.  They were certainly appreciative of not having to clean up every nook and cranny.

Interesting, the local festool rep was talking about this but had no details.

What kind of blade is it?  Assuming it has diamond teeth?  But what about the arbor.  Is it sized for the Festool or did you have to get it machined separately?

And where did you get the blade?

I'm not having any luck with the item number you gave. This is what the web site says: 1921-0004   4" Coarse Grit Brazed Diamond Flat Cut/Grinding Wheels.

Nice job!!! My wife has wanted granite countertops for a long time.

Oh yeah, your saw is now out of warrantly *LOL*

I wonder what Festool's warranty is when cutting solid surface material? Seems to me I remember they mentioned something about a 1 year warranty on tools which were used in that industry rather then the standard 3 year but that may have been routers.

Indeed! Granite is not the sort of material you'd want to cut if you ever wanted to hand the saw in for a warranty repair! See the thread at http://festoolownersgroup.com/index.php?topic=2280.0 which includes extracts from Festool's manual and FAQ database.

Sounds like their talking out of both sides of their mouth Huh?


Somebody pointed that out in a thread I posted a while back about using a TS75 to cut soundproofing drywall that had a layer of cement board in it.  They definitely need to specify whether cement board is included in their definition of "wood-like" materials, or, more importantly, whether cutting it with the saw specifically voids the warranty.

Does anyone have this accessory?  How well does it work?
