Additional Workbench/Pool Table
« on: November 17, 2017, 09:50 AM »
I have a pool table slap bang in the middle of my workshop for maybe 5 months now - great for playing pool - but a 'B' with an itch for taking up workshop space, which can get annoying, until I built a lid for it. Now it's an additional workbench and a pool table - and all is well again.

And it only took me 5 months to think of putting a lid on it.

The pool table has been a great investment too - I've won several times more £ than what I bought it for.

It was a dark and stormy night, and the weather was barely restrained at the open door of the shop as the wizard walked in.  In one fluid motion, he carefully returned his Festool saw to its rail, turned, and removed the top from his temporary workbench, revealing the pool table underneath.  Then he walked slowly along the side to one end, stopping to rack up the balls on the perfectly flat top.  Gazing slowly around at the onlookers, he slowly but clearly intoned, "Who among you will pay me tonight?"

I am trying to imagine the stories waiting to be written where the top comes off and the bets are laid, but I do not see any indications of alcohol in the picture...  Looks like it could make for some memorable evenings though.

Great idea. Bit like @Timtool's MFSC but with two functions rather than six...  [big grin]

All that's missing is a cot in the corner.  Why would you ever leave your shop?

Horizontal space is always at a premium in the shop.  Use it or lose functionality.  Sometimes we all need diversions and your solution achieves both.

Festool USA has had a Foosball table for at least 9 years and it too has a removable top so that it can be adapted to alternate usages.
