Hi, after seeing a few videos around the place and in here, I am of the opinion to add some sort of t-track along the front of my workbench edge, to enable clamping vertical boards, and even perhaps a track on the front "top" edge too if there is a benefit to be had there also.
What (if any) size t-track would take the (festool f-type if I am understanding it) clamps? I did see a vid of someones workbench where he used curtain track, so I assume it just has to be fixable and solid enough and wide enough to take the clamps and let them slide in and across easily. Any other alternatives?

In a perfect world, I'd just get the MFT table but since I already have a workbench thought I'd upgrade it's usefulness a tad.
thanks

Hi, thanks for that suggestion of the Incra, but I'm not even sure where I'd get Incra here in NZ. (We're just a little bit away from you guys and just don't generally get the extensive range of goodies available like in the US!) I know of only 1 place that even sells t-track here in Auckland and thats miles away from where I live, so before I go off with a packed lunch I was hoping some other alternatives may be available from the big hardware type stores?.

You could try Ullrich aluminium. I'm not sure where exactly you are in Auckland, but they have stores in Otahuhu, Henderson, Silverdale and Manukau. Pretty much covers all corners of the city. They have an extensive range of aluminium extrusions in their catalogue, and they're bound to have something close to the t-track you need.  Smile

Here is a thread that discusses which brands of T Track are compatible with Festool clamps. Read through it to find additional brand updates.

http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-tools-accessories/clamp-t-track/

If anyone knows other brands that are or are not compatible , it would Be great to add them to that thread.

Incra T-track, and clamps....

One word of caution...the screws that come with Incra tracks have a fairly large head.

I got #6 x 1/2" flat head screws.

Yes, I changed out the screws when I put mine in too.  I have seven  tracks in my 4 x 8 bench top, running the 4' direction.
