Then it would be a Swiss cheese Sys Card  [tongue]

In that case I'd be a MUST for me. [smile]

Seems like there's some confusion about what can be used as a trade-in tool. Let me give you some examples...  [big grin]

(Attachment Link)

Easy, right? Here's the next step.

that reminds me of when I bought my first toyota pickup in 1984.  Bring or tow in anything with 4 wheels and get a $1000 down payment credit.  I brought in a matchbox car.

Peter

Did you get the $1000 off?

How about a Swiss Sys Card !  [big grin]

Do I need that...no
Do I want one...maybe...maybe not
But that card sure possesses a certain cool 😎 factor and that’s priceless.  [big grin]

The TSA will confiscate it.

... any tool? So I could just send a $4 Harbor Freight tape measure in?

Any tool.  [smile]

How about a Band Saw?

@Festool USA I'll ask again, any reason why the MFK 700 Set is not included with the rest of the router lineup?

Not saying this is a good explanation, but you'll notice that they specify "plunge routers" are in the scope of the offer and the MFK 700 is not a plunge router.

Could be they are updating those tools and trying to reduce inventory before the new models are released.

Festool USA already responded in the thread that this is not the case.

If new models or updates were coming, we would see them 6-12 months in advance in Europe typically and there's nothing on the radar.  [wink]

Snip.
So, basically they could just offer $100 card and not waste time and money to send in junk.

I agree.

If their intention was to recycle old junk tools instead of metals getting dumped in the landfill, I would think it was a good idea to do the trades. But if a screwdriver is considered a tool, the recycle point is a moot one.

Why create so much extra work for everyone (Festool, shipper and the customer)? The $100 rebate card itself is already an enough marketing ploy, if that is what the marketing people focus on.

Seeing the instructions now, it looks more like a trick by them for you to make an account/register with them.  I'm buying something from you, that in no way involves me giving information about me to you.  Aimed at the same folks who still fill out warranty cards thinking it's something you have to do, it's just a way to data mine you.

Not really, the tools would be running 110V.  So they wouldn't be in Europe, Especially if they were to say re-introduce stuff back into the market.

Generally   new tools or updated versions of tools have been released in Europe several months to a year (in the Euro voltage version) before they have been released in 110v for the North American market. This is not conjecture it is a fact.  It is not 100% always true and it may not remain that way. But there is a previous track record.

They sell both in Europe 110V and 240V.  I bought a 110 V VL CMS table only in Europe (as they'll sell the CMS tables by themselves and you dont have to get a module like the router module for it). I didnt have to change the plug to a US version to plus it into my US CT when I was there. Then when I returned I bought a new US switch for it.

Anyway I didnt post this to "one up" anyone, just passing on some insight .

(in my best imation sedge voice)

I hope this helps.

Where I was going was more along the lines of maybe they are trying to sell down some inventory of Imperial/Inch tools before bringing back the metric tools and selling both.  The tools this was applying to looked to be the ones that got inched a few years ago.  Seeing they are expanding their facilities in the US, maybe they think they can handle both.

I have two questions about this!
1.Do we have to send the old tool to the dealer or festoolusa?
2.Can we get the metric or this is only imperial ones?

Thanks,

@HAXIT, great questions.

1. Once you receive your new tool, simply register it at https://www.festoolusa.com/promo. Festool will send you a prepaid shipping label, so there's no shipping cost to you. It gets returned to Festool USA with that label.

2. This is only for new tools. It excludes discontinued tools. Metric tools are considered discontinued. So, only imperial.

So per my prior post I took advantage of this offer. After some creative tool-picking arriving today are:

  • HKC 55 (no rail)
  • PDC 18/4
  • (4) 5.2ah batteries
  • Jetstream charger

Net cost after rebate $854. Thanks @Shane Holland & @Festool USA

UPS is also bringing (6) 1/2 sheets of 3/4 prefinished maple ply (Home Depot) so this weekend I get to do some cordless plywood cutting. Tim the UPS guy is probably grumbling a mite this AM.  [big grin]

So I ordered the OF 1010; then decided to upgrade to a braided Midi hose at $130.00 convincing myself the hose only cost $30.00. This did not sound as convincing around the kitchen table. Today's advisory: Have an acceptable plan for the $100.00 gift card!

You did better than me.  Ordered the OF1010 from Festool Products, then spent another $300 getting NAINA accessories from an U.K. retailer.

You're going to throw this out there and then make us ask, aren't you...

OK I'll bite, what else did you find that needed to be ordered from the UK?

@Festool USA,

Can you let us know if customers need to register their tools separately, or does completing the promo form also register the tool in the same step?

Thanks.

Yes, we will register all valid submissions. You don’t need to submit it to both the Trade Up campaign and the tool registration.

I am such an idiot!

I can't believe that I nearly missed out on the promotion without even realizing that I had made a valid purchase.  I bought an OF1400 router back on 8/8/2018 and the Trade Up program wasn't announced until 9/17, but effective for purchases going back to 8/1.

Some how I was under the impression that my purchase had been way before the program start date (I guess I didn't really remember exactly when I made my purchase, but clearly I wasn't thinking).

Luckily I was emailing with someone today who just so happened to prompt to me check the receipt date.  I just submitted my purchase for the gift card.  Now what tool should I send back [scratch chin]??

Bump, Wednesday 10/31 is the deadline to take advantage of this promotion. Again, this is by far the best discount I have seen from Festool USA in 15 years at up to 26% off. If you're in the market for a track saw or plunge router, definitely hop on this deal.

Had to jump on this!

Just called the good folks at ToolNut and got:

1. HKC55 - $100 trade-in eligible
2. TSC55 (the deal with 4 free batteries for $440 -- not trade-in eligible, but couldn't pass up the deal!)
3. 2 Additional 18v 5.2Ah batteries (for a total of 6)
4. SC-8 Charger (so I can be Airstream ready)

After $100 rebate I'm out the door for under $900

This is all to complement my new CT-26 and DTS400... blown away by the performance of the little DTS with the CT after stripping our old butcher block counter tops and spot finishing some drywall patches. Amazing dust collection!

And... I got a hat  8)
