New domino owner here. Plate and domino came in about the same time but I was late in ordering the extra hardware from Festool so started experimenting without it making test joins and boxes. The domino rocks, aligns all my joints beautifully. The domiplate is an awesome accessory. Those slots where the domino has to go vertical gave me some trouble and I could never really tell if everything was truly square. Once I slapped on the domiplate, it never came off . It really sped up the process as I didn't have to keep checking, double/triple checking to see if everything were flush before plunging.. I highly recommend this when he gets them back in stock. |

I bought a Domiplate from Ron because I didn't trust my fence.
Too often the mortise was not parallel to the work surface and using
the Domiplate the potential error in the fence is by-passed.
Turned out even with the Domiplate the mortise was still not parallel
to the work surface so there is probably a problem with my machine.
Fortunately, since the Domiplate offers a nice flat surface for mounting
to the flat bottom of the machine I could shim between the Domiplate
and the machine and get perfectly parallel mortises after all.
Highly recommended!

Ron, I used plastic shim stock of .004" thickness which is held down with 3M clear packing tape so the total thickness is probably .005+. I put a 12" rule on top of an installed domino and when the rule looked parallel to the work shimming was done. I use color coded plastic shim stock from McMaster-Carr, item 9513K42. |

How do you know where you mortise is going to be located? Are there known and repeatable offset distances for positioning/index the rig for each angle?

Tell me more about that. What you want is to be able to put in a series of round pin holes then go back through with the Domino & add a shallower mortise (centered on the hole)? What does that get used for? Yes. That's for Euro style cabinets. Let say tall cabinet has two or more doors (one over another one). I need to place shelf in place where doors meet together. With present design I have to reposition rail too. It would be helpful to place domino mortise exactly over 5mm shelf pin hole. Thank you, VictorL |

That's what I would have liked to see. That way you could have used the stops on the end stops to index the rail. I'm not use what you mean by "32 mm grid doors". |

That's what I would have liked to see. That way you could have used the stops on the end stops to index the rail. I'm not use what you mean by "32 mm grid doors". I mean door height should be H = 32mm * T |

i can see a benifit to this in that if you were doing a wardrobe (with 32 mm system ) and wanted to cut
slots for the bottom
a series of holes for adjustable shelfs
another row of slots for a fixed shelf
more holes
top slots.

Wow! I'm late to the thread, and may have missed a comment along these lines, but the first thing I thought of when I saw the angle- adjustable design using the LR32 was the idea of using it for making louvered shutters. Don't know whether this is possible, but it is certainly moving in that direction. Has pricing been set for this new accessory yet?
