I never thought to correlate the request to take a picture of our track saw with the tool giveaway being a track saw accessory, but it makes perfect sense. That's brilliant!

I was thinking it was going to be more along the lines of some kind of trinket - like a little pocket tape measure or something like that.

Let’s have a contest to guess what it is Rob is giving away.

We had to post pictures of our track saws.  So it must be an accessory for a track saw.

I am going to guess Veritas has a new track saw square.

Anyone else ?

Rob Lee did a similar post on another WW forum, except that it included circular saws and track saws.........the suspense builds  [big grin]

And it’s specific to Festool track saws (or tracks)!  Hmmmm.  Looking forward to the intro.

OK -

We have more than enough.....!

Cheers -

Rob

Ah poop.  I'm on vacation.  Merde!  (No, I'm not in Quebec with their exigent contest rules - took marketing years ago and learned all about that consumer protectorism nonsense they have there).

Lol!

I have all the Festool doodads I think I'd ever want/need, but I am curious what this mysterious prize/gift turns out to be.

Nice to see you do this Rob.  You're a retailer angel in my books!

Hi Kevin -

When you see it (and its friends) you'll want one (or more)!

Really..... !  [eek]

And.... it's already spawned another product, which should be very desirable too....

I gotta do more projects! [wink] [big grin]

Cheers -

Rob

I am indeed now dyin' to see what this is, and also what it has spawned.

I assume anything you do, especially as a Festool retailer, cannot simply be your own version of an accessory of something Festool themselves already make.

And with Peter Parfitt innocently treading into this thread, it makes me think that maybe he's involved somehow....hmmmm.... ah!  I'm just reading too much into this.

Lee Valley has a number of metric display models that are of no real use to anyone now that Festool NA has switched to imperial.

Since no one wants a metric tool, Rob is trying his best to give them away.

You can take that to the bank.

Well.... in this forum it's specific to track saws.... in other forums (I did 4) it was track and circular....

I could have added various hand and power tools though.

It IS best for saws though....

All this time, I thought Mr Rob Lee was just having fun with us.................until I saw this little gem inside the 1986 Lee valley catalog from Leonard Lee.  Obviously over 30 years of taunting us  [big grin]

Just saw this thread for the first time, exactly my thoughts Svar.
I take good care of my machines but this is insane, most of them look brand new!

I just got the notification from UPS that it's going to be delivered tomorrow.

I presume it's safe for any of us to share what the tool is when it arrives?

I could see a guy having two sets for different locations!

Now I tossed in that "more" comment for the bench saddles....

Work great in an MFT as stand-offs - for routing, carvex, finishing, clamping.... all sorts of uses.

I am continually finding new way to use them!

But first and foremost - the platform is great for track saws!

Cheers -

Two sets ordered -- for use in one single location.

Purpose? Benchtop assembly.

@ Rob Lee. I Like it!

Another suggestion, I’d like to have something like a chest lid support (but without the middle joint) that fits a dog hole and could clip or be clamped to an upright work piece to add in assembly.

A dog with a simple pivot joint,
An arm about a foot or so long,
And another pivoting clip attached to the end with a saddle or plate

Got it -

Even better - a length adjustable arm....one of those twist to lock things.

A third hand!

What's this? A 4x8 ripping table clamped to two MFTs?  [cool] If one were so inclined they could remove the MFT/3 bits and center it over the tables. Realistically what I'll probably do should the need arise is put the new ripping table on top of that MFTSlab pictured and place it in the middle of the room and clamp the two long support pieces down.
