I've only seen this mentioned by Canadian dealers. Is this a Festool Canada only thing? Can any US dealers or FestoolUSA comment? @Shane Holland

Something to do with the fact that the Canadian dollar has been losing ground steadily over the past year or two?

The dictionary definition of a sale is a period during which a retail seller offers goods at reduced prices.  A sale at Festool means we are raising our prices (again) so if you buy a tool before we raise prices it will cost less than if you wait until after we raise prices.

As a service provider myself (in a non-woodworking sector), I have increased my fees four times over the past three years alone. I receive a regular service from another business (about 6 - 7 times a year) which miraculously could keep the same rate of fee for close to ten years until this week when it announced a 8% price increase. How could I say no?

As a Festool owner who has already got all his "essential" Festool goodies (as opposed to nice-to-have ones), I don't get affected by the annual price increases...I actually benefited from them when I sold my CT26 and TS75 (still in pristine conditions) after owning them for two to three years. No other common brands could hold that kind of price after a few years of use.
