Exciting new tools and accessories coming from Festool. Pre-order now from The Tool Nut for April 2nd shipment. We do not charge your credit card until the item(s) ship and you can cancel at any time. Let me know if you have any questions.

New! Bluetooth Remote Control Set (202097)

The Festool Bluetooth remote control is the newest must-have accessory for your dust extractor. Simply push the button on the remote to turn your vac on and off remotely. Whether you're using a cordless tool or using your vac for clean up tasks, the Bluetooth remote control is the perfect accessory. Additionally, the new Festool Bluetooth batteries (sold separately) will pair with the remote control module to turn the vac on automatically when using your Festool cordless tools. Compatible with Festool CT 26, CT 36, CT 36 AutoClean (AC) and CT 48 dust extractors. Product No. 202097, $80.00.

New! Dust Extractor Hoses w/ Braided Sleeve

Festool has updated its dust extractor hoses with a new exterior braided sleeve to prevent snagging and to protect the hose. The new hoses feature a more flexible material and a conical design to improve air flow. Also, the tool end of the hose can be connected to the vac end of the hose securely for storage and transport, preventing dust from spilling out.

Updated Festool dust extractors and cleaning sets can be pre-ordered and will begin shipping with the new braided sleeve hoses beginning April 2018.

New! GRANAT NET Abrasives

The new Granat Net abrasive is the perfect solution for sanding materials that produce a large amount of dust. The open net structure enables dust extraction across the entire surface — for working cleanly, a high material removal capacity, and a long service life of the abrasive. Granat Net is available in five different formats that cover a wide range of different applications.

Important: When using Granat Net abrasives, Festool recommends the optional protection pad for your sander to prevent premature wear for the hook and loop on the pad.

New! DOMINO Connectors for Domino DF 500

The new DOMINO connectors make knock-down joinery simple and stable. Quickly and easily assemble, separate, and reassemble your work for increased flexibility across a wide range of applications – from corner panel joints to center panel joints to joints between a series of holes. For increased stability, speed, and flexibility.

For the best value, purchase the Domino DF 500 Connector Systainer Set with everything you need to get started!
Product No. 203170, $375.00.

New! Diamond Blade for TS 55 / TSC 55 (202958)

Festool's diamond saw blade cuts all cement-bonded and gypsum-bonded chipboard and fiberboard quickly and with superior performance. It is the ideal solution for precise, efficient work when used together with Festool's TS 55 R and TSC 55 track saws. Product No. 202958, $145.00.

New vacs will begin shipping on 3/1.

With the optional Bluetooth module, operate your vac via the remote control on the suction hose and start up automatically when Festool cordless tools with Bluetooth battery packs are switched on. Applies to CT 26/36/48 only.
The new suction hose is smooth and flexible – with a smooth exterior for perfect sliding over surfaces, a longer service life, and greater suction power. The new CLEANTEC extraction sleeve ensures a secure fit on the tool.
Simple transportation, better organization and endless flexibility. The SYS-Dock with TLOC for the safe connection of  your Systainer, Sortainer and SYS-ToolBox units. Also backward  compatible with Classic Systainers.
The cable can be wound up quickly and neatly thanks to the new cable holder. And thanks to the folding mechanism, it can be easily removed from the holder without difficult unwinding. Applies to CT 26/36/48 models only.

New! MX 1200 EF Mixer (575213)

Maximize comfort and control when doing the dirty work of mixing and stirring. With the MX 1200 and Ergofix system the machine adjusts to the way you work with tool-free height adjustment. Reduce splash-ups with the 1200 watt (10 amp) powerful soft-start motor featuring in-trigger speed control as well as variable speed dial. Changing out stirring rods is fast and simple with the Ergofix adapter that provides tool-free changes. Product No. 575213, $390.00.

New! Multi-Jetstream 2 Pads & Abrasives for 6" Sanders

Multi-Jetstream 2 is defined by the unique interaction between intake air and exhaust air – with optimum dust extraction right up to the edge. The result is virtually 100% dust extraction for a consistently high material removal rate, top surface quality, and a healthy working environment. Multi-Jetstream 2 pads and abrasives are forward and backward compatible with previous verions of pads and abrasives. Only available for Festool 6" round pad sanders.

Updated Festool 6" sanders can be pre-ordered and will begin shipping with the new Multi-Jetstream 2 pads beginning April 2018.

Since some of these items are a pre-order from Festool, do you know if the prices will increase after the pre-order is over?  I'm mostly asking for the Bluetooth remote.  I would hate to see the price go up if I decide not to buy right now.

@beewerks, great question.

The new items are excluded from the upcoming 3/1 price increase. The price shown is, as far as I know, the price for the rest of 2018.

What am I missing here?  I don't see how the Bluetooth remote would be compatible with my existing CT26 without some additional accessory or modification.

@Wooden Skye, the Bluetooth remote SET comes with a module that installs in your vac. Super easy to install, just two screws. That enables the Bluetooth capability.

Product No. 202097, $80

Check out this video that shows installation.

Adding some videos to show the new wares.

Sorry that the Domino connector video is in German, I don't think an English version is available yet. But you can get the point despite the German.

Is the primary difference between existing vacs and the 2018 version the new hose, with secondary updates of the hose garage and cord wrap?  Curious if there's a change in CFM for any of the models.

One more question (I'm guessing I know the answer to this one but want to verify):  I'm assuming the 10% discount still applies if you buy a tool with it?

Regards,
Gerald

@Gerald_D, good questions. Yes, you nailed the updates to the vacs, no changes to specifications regarding suction.

Yes, the 10% discount applies still. I've already got our website updated to show the new vacs on the dropdown list on tools' product pages to give the option to bundle with the new models which are annotated with "2018 model" to make them easy to identify.

Note that there is a modest price increase for the updated vacs.

Thanks @Shane Holland - I'm guessing the modest price increase has to do with the new hose which, if it works as 'advertised', should be well worth it.

I'm really intrigued with the Bluetooth remote- could have used that this weekend when using my Kreg jig with T18 drill.  Would be handy when using with the cleaning kit as well.

Will the bluetooth remote work on a CT 22?

Although I am not Shane nor Tyler, when I saw the bluetooth stuff back in the fall I asked directly about CT-22 usage because that is what I have.  I was told by the Festool employee showing off the products that he had two CT-22's and had asked the question just like I was.  The answer was unfortunately NO.

The removal of the ribbing that catches on just about everything is a plus, but the lack of a built-in power cord is a painful oversight. This is a lateral move from the sleeved hose that I don’t see helping anyone other than cordless tool users.

Yes, the only change is the new Multi-Jetstream 2 pads. Basically.... even MORE holes.  [big grin]

The abrasives and pads are both forward and backward compatible. Use the new pad with old abrasives. Use the old abrasives with the new pad.

Just a hunch, but I think it's because this stuff doesn't have a plug. So, no UL certifications, etc.

Definitely great to see this stuff showing up here soon after the Euro-intro though. [thumbs up]

The new Grants Net mesh paper. Is that mostly for drywall?  Throughout the entire video they only show sanders being used on drywall. It would make the most sense but figure looks I would ask.

The mixer. Is it designed to mix concrete?  I’ve torn up way to many Milwaukee cordless drills on being stupid and mixing concrete with them.

@BJM9818, GRANAT NET is made for applications that produce a high volume of dust according to Festool's marketing. I think that's because of the benefits of the open mesh being porous. There are similar mesh abrasives out there that folks use for plenty of sanding tasks outside of drywall. I don't see why this would be any different.

@TylerC, can you comment on this? I believe it should be capable of mixing concrete up to the prescribed maximum capacity of 15.85 gallons.

@Luzzy, I doubt Festool will offer them included with the tools in the near future. But I could be wrong. Eventually, I think it's possible but I believe it's a year or more away.

True true.  I guess I don't see the real need for the BT batteries if there's a vac button right at the end of the hose (basically at the tool).  But maybe that's just me.

I don't have a CT that can take the BT module anyways - maybe a 26 one day when I have to replace my Feins.

@RustE, yes, the upgrade on the MINI/MIDI is the new hose with the correct right angle vac-end connector.

I have heard that the new hose is lighter and more flexible. Again, let's get @TylerC  to confirm.

Has anyone done the calculations yet on the cost effectiveness of the df500 connector systainer vs buying separately?

I remember I did the calculations on the XL connectors, and realized it was better just to buy stuff individually.  But with the DF500 connectors, you have the add on template and cutter.  The application I have in mind is a large shelving unit (with multiple columns of shelves), so I would be primarily using them to make the terminal butt joints between the verticals and the top and bottom of the shelving unit, but since they are going to be relatively tall (around 10 ft.), I would probably also add one row of fixed shelves in the middle  to keep consistent spacing between the verticals.  All of the other shelves would then be floating on shelf pins.

@ear3, looks like the whole kit should cost about $482 if bought individually (not including the screwdriver). The odd quantities means I had to essentially take the unit price of each connector off of the 25 and 50 packs to get to the 10, 20, and 70 quantities sold in the kit, but it still looks like ~$100 savings. I just wish it was a bigger SYS 2, seems like there's not much extra space for more than a handful of connectors at a time.

I must be missing something:  What does the $30 price differential get you on the Mini and the Midi?

Does the new hose come with the 90° end fitting for use with the Mini and the Midi?
Is the new hose heavier than or lighter than the current hose?

@RustE, yes, the upgrade on the MINI/MIDI is the new hose with the correct right angle vac-end connector.

I have heard that the new hose is lighter and more flexible. Again, let's get @TylerC  to confirm.

Yes, the new smooth hose is much lighter and more flexible. When I first heard about a new hose, I was a little skeptical about how much better it could be. I was wrong. It's really cool.

Hey @Shane Holland a couple of questions.

Are you offering the new MIDI hose garage with the T-Locs as an accessory?

What's the purpose of the new 8mm x 36mm domino, 203175?

@Cheese,

Yes, we have the MINI/MIDI T-LOC Hose Garage, which has been available for a while now.

I believe the 8x36mm tenons are used to help with load where you need additional support and are the same dimensions as the connectors. So, cheaper than using multiple connectors where you can use one connector and one or more tenons. You can see the principle demonstrated with the Domino XL connectors in Phil's video. @Festool USA, can you confirm?

@1951CorrectCraft, compatible in what way? Like joining hoses together? If that's what you mean, you would need to use the method of changing the connectors and using a coupler, which has been the method used for the "old" hoses. The "new" hoses can be joined together without the need of a coupler.

Thanks @nvalinski  Does the pricing you did also include the systainer, or just the components?  I guess I'll have to do a specific calculation after I draw up the plans for my shelving units, but off the top I don't need all those different colored plugs, or the extra dominoes, and could just as easily store the materials in a drawer in my shop rather than have yet another systainer.

Ah ha! Well, I asked about the new hose connectors and was told that they are made specifically to work with the sleeve on the new hoses. Not sure if that means that they will work with the old and new hoses. Or, only the new.

Let's see what @Festool USA has to say. My guess is that it will work with both.

Here's a link to the new version for the 36mm hose. I don't see a new model in Festool's announcement for the 27mm hose. Tyler can we get an item number for that spare part as well? Thanks!

Just sharing some info... I had a customer ask what size battery the Bluetooth remote control takes. I was able to find a review online from a YouTuber in the Netherlands that says it's a very common sized CR2032. I have a message out to Festool to confirm, but unless I post otherwise, that's the size. It does come with a battery. This is just for those wanting to know so they know that it's not proprietary or hard-to-find as a replacement.

I have the light grey 3.5m 27mm hose I use with my CT 22 for clean up on work bench etc. I have a new 5mm 27mm hose in my shopping cart at Toolnut but am a little hesitant that the increased length will reduce the suction too much. Again I use it to cklean up shavings, etc only and it is never hook up to a tool. What really bugs me about the grey hose it the ribs hang as I pull it across the workbench. The CT 22 has the Ultimate Dust Deputy on it and boom arm, etc.

PS I am attempting to attach a pic but it may be too big.

I am using the hose sleeve for a while now, and it is a great solution for making your old hose snagless.
The only thing we can't do is make the inside smooth.

@Claimdude, we sell a product called TechFlex that you can use on your existing hose if you're just looking to have that braided sleeve functionality. I want to say @Peter Parfitt did a video about suction over various lengths of hose. Let me see if I can find it. As I recall, the lose of suction was very minimial. The new hoses are smooth on the inside and conical (tapered) along their length which is suppose to improve suction at the tool end.

Techflex:

I couldn't quickly find the video I thought I remembered seeing on hose length and its impact on suction. I'll keep looking. In the meantime, here are some threads on the topic.

And a quote that I made in that first thread based on specs from Festool when I was there.

I was able to gain access to some information. The maximum length for combining D50 and D27 hoses is 98'. We would only recommend this length, or lengths beyond say 60' for fine dust like that produced by sanders.

Hi @Shane Holland

I think the video that you might be remembering was when I was testing the UDD and made a home made testing gadget that gave an indication of static pressure.

I do have several lengths of 27 mm and 36 mm hose. My 5 m length of 36 mm hose works better than my shorter lengths of 27 mm.

I think I found the recipe:

The only problem is that the sleeving makes the hose a lot stiffer. I have 2 of them downstairs that I no longer use. One for a CT 22 and one for a MIDI.

Cheese,

I agree. I have the sleeving on the hose I use on my Boomarm  [huh]hose and it captures the power cord. I prefer the integrated design of the new hose, ie no separate sleaving, and do no need a power cord for this application.

This was being discussed in another thread, but I wanted to post it here too.

The Festool USA website seems to have created some confusion over the new Bluetooth module. Some folks understandably read that website to say that the Bluetooth module was included with the new vacs. I have reached out to Festool USA and they have confirmed that the new vacs do not include any Bluetooth capability. The Bluetooth module and remote are sold separately.

Awesome Shane thank you! I was hoping to order the new T-Loc garage to upgrade my existing CT 36 but I need to make sure first that my UDD is compatible with it. I see there are still connectors on the new T-Loc garage that look like they would work, but it would be nice to have someone test it before I place the order.

@Greg Powers, yes, the new tool-end connector will work with the older tools just like the original hose, as a compression fitting.

I cancelled my order for the AirStack last week (I was 10th on the list).  I want to wait until it is out for a while and then think about it.  While I really like the form factor, I think it is louder and slower than the JC10 plus which gets great reviews and about half the price.  What to do, what to do.....?  Looking forward to real world reviews on the AitStack.

Yeah, same sentiments here.  I added casters and a Sys-base to my JC10.  Not quite as tidy as the Airstak, but close enough.  If the 'Stak was quieter or on par with the JC10 it would be an easier decision, but I think it will clock in noticeably louder.

FOG Friends,

Only a week remains before the new Festool gear starts shipping. Just a friendly reminder for anyone that's considering ordering any of it.

I was thinking... the Bluetooth remote should almost be a no-brainer for anyone with a Planex. I could see where that application really stands to benefit.

Check out the new video from our resident expert, Mr. Parfitt, showing the new Bluetooth module.

Hope someone breaks down the Domino connector kit contents and coordinates with orderable parts so we can figure out what all those little pieces actually are.

Thanks @Cheese and @Shane .

Festool’s graphics department did a great job on those illustrations and photos!

What I still want to see is coordination of the “KV...” designations in the brochure and the product numbers accompanying the photos.

The photo of the Systainer full of pieces doesn’t help because the “KV’s” etc. are disassembled into sub-parts. It’s nice that different “KV’s” share common parts but it’s difficult to know what’s really in the kit.

@Michael Kellough, sorry for the delay getting back to you on this. Here's a view of the contents of the Domino 500 Connector Systainer. Does that show what you're looking for better? Combined with the manual, I hope this helps. Not really a one-to-one relationship between the "KV"s and SKUs, but this may be a better illustration of what you're getting with the kit.

Any idea what that plastic piece is for in back near the hinge of the systainer? (Behind the three containers.)  It appears to have slots to connect other bins but would seem unnecessary if one is using the three containers provided.
