Outstanding Customer Service from Woodcraft

I hope this is the right forum for this post.

I just wanted to pass on the excellent experience I had with Woodcraft Corporate.  I managed to crack the front finger knob on my Woodriver 4 1/2 smoothing plane that I had purchased from my local Woodcraft (it wasn't from over tightening the screw in case you're wondering).  I emailed Woodcraft asking if it was possible to purchase a replacement knob as I couldn't find it for sale on their website.  I got a reply the next day saying they could send me a replacement knob if I just tell them where to send it.

Sure enough, they sent me the replacement knob completely free of charge even though it was totally my fault that the knob cracked.  I was so happy with their response that I ordered a few items from woodcraft.com that I normally would have ordered from somewhere else online.

Nice and appropriate for WOODCRAFT Corporate to do that (reflects favorable on the whole brand including franchises) - and its even nicer that you took the time to post this thread for this audience to hear.

I can say, with sincerity, that my experiences with Woodcraft corporate are on the same level as my experiences with Lee Valley.     My local franchise Woodcraft stores happen to rule, too.

Ya, I have to admit the local Woodcraft franchise is awesome. They may not have all of the Festool items in stock, however within 4-5 days the items I’ve ordered have arrived and are ready for pickup.

The local Woodcraft store places orders with Festool 2 times every week.  [big grin]
