my carvex jigsaw has not been performing well. Not cutting straight and frustratingly when turning round a corner the blade comes out.
I went to a festool dealer today and told him my problem. He was extremely helpfull and said he would send it to festool uk to repair and lent me one of his. He said he never heard of the problem of the blade coming out before.             Has anyone else had this problem?
Should get it back next week so let you know what happens.

So how does the Carvex from your dealer perform? Any problems with this machine as well?

I'am still not very satisfied with my Carvex. It also has problems with the blade comes out of the guide. And the blade-rejectbutton which comes off.
And it also went for complete repair-update this spring. My Carvex was from April 2010.
All the machine before Summer 2010 will be repaired by Festool for free.
But it still has some problems.

Mine went in for a fix last year. It still seems impossible to cut straight with it though. I have to say I don"t like it any more than the Trion and generally use my old Bosch. Might send it back again.

Hi,

jmbfestool had a thread about his wireless Carvex explaining the blade coming out and having a fix for it. (and  illustrated it with photographs) I can't find the thread right now, you will have to go through lots of his carved threads finding it. I also believe that this issue concerns the first batch of Carvex that came out and that the problem was fixed at the later ones....
I have one and have no issues whatsoever.

I bought my carvex about may this  year so it should be the second batch.Interesting jmb had the same problem and fixed it. I don't see why I should have to fix it myself.
The first time it broke it just stopped working, apparently a wire had come off the switch. I was pleased with service from festool UK but disappointted with the carvex.
I had a good play with it when my Festool rep visited me on site and impressed by it.
Believe me I love festool tools,. Kapex and cxs especially, never had a major breakdown with any of my other tools.
Don't know what to do if carvex keeps being sent back, its a tool I use alot.
Let's see whats happens. Unsure

I got my carvex back today exactly a week since given to dealer to send off. They said they changed a couple of bits to do with the blade guide, not sure exactly what.
Haven't had a chance to test it yet, let you know if its ok.
Can't fault the dealer and the way they helped sorting it, quite disappointted with them in that they had a demo day going on when I picked my carvex up!!
Had to have a go of a few things and chat with rep. Downside no money at the moment  Sad Maybe end of next job I might have some , want the digital level, very clever toy, I mean tool.
