Not really a problem if you are not using it that much, but I use mine quite a bit. When I'm plunging horizontally, I find the angled extraction port and in turn the hose just gets in my way, and find it very annoying after maybe 3 plunges. Is there an add on that I can buy with a more acute angle, that doesn't hit your knuckles, or perhaps a member has adapted their's in some way?. This would be my only bugbear on an otherwise industry changing tool.

Hi,
I don't know about home built adapters for this, but Festool does not make one. I find that pushing the hose on, then tilting it askew towards the outside helps quite a bit. Because of the rubber fitting it does not have to be perfectly straight.

I know when I'm using mine on top of the MFT/3 making a mortise in the face of a board, the whole back end of the Domino and the hose get in my face while trying to look at the viewfinder. I guess the solution is to grow some more or get lifts in my shoes.  |

In the end user classes your taught to support the unit with one hand on the fence and the plunging hand on the plug it cord. It works real well for me. I think it will solve your problem and give you a little bit more control.

I agree on grabbing the tail as lightly as possible, as far back as possible. You don't need to plunge hard, even in AU hardwood, let the cutter do it's work and you won't burn out or snap bits. Using less force also makes the tool more accurate, I found that any kind of body grip would make it more likely to shift during the plunge. Pushing on the plug-it I envision a line straight down the center of the tool. I've never even noticed the extractor hose, the concept that it would be in the way is totally foreign to me.
If it were a kung-fu move it would be "Grasp the green wasp's tail"

Effective dust extraction is vital to correct performance of the Domino. Therefore it is important to become at one with the hose. The same is true of saws, routers and sanders.
Fortunately for me I had been using Festool plunge saws several years before the Domino reached the USA, so I was well experienced being at one with the hose.
The good news is that because of the way the Domino fits over the mortise, its dust extraction is very efficient, meaning the 27mm AS hose is large enough.
