How to unkink new D27 antistatic hose
« on: February 22, 2017, 12:59 PM »
Greetings all,
I'm thrilled with my CT MIDI dust extractor. The auto on/off feature when working with my TS55 REQ and Domino DF 500 is just awesome. I am of course even more thrilled with the TS55 and Domino ;-)

However, the 11.5' antistatic dust extractor hose has two pronounced hard curves in it that don't seem to want to go away. Any ideas how to "unkink" the hose so it doesn't want to keep curling up onto itself? It's becoming a real pain when cutting sheet goods.

For perspective, I've only had it two days, so yes it's a very new hose. In that time I've kept it out of the CT MIDI hose storage area completely, trying to give it time to straighten out. In fact I intentionally left the hose connected to my Domino overnight in such a way as to curve the hose against the existing problematic curves, but the next morning as I disconnected the hose from the Domino I found the original kink was there just as strong ...

Thanks in advance for any insights.

Hi,

  Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

Hang it up in a warm place for a few days. It will also improve with time and use. Or in the sun if you have that available  [wink]

  Enjoy your new tools.

That's an interesting idea.

And no need  for a dryer sheet since the hose is Anti-Static  [tongue]

Thanks Seth, it's 80 here in Dallas today so luckily I have the sunshine front covered! Sounds like my dad had the right idea: put it out on the patio and use bricks to align it straight and let heat do the work.  Thanks!   I just didn't want to stop using it for that long but it will be well worth the outage time LOL
