Just opened my new DWC. It won't work in forward
« on: February 28, 2017, 10:37 PM »
I finally broke down and purchased a DWC it arrived today. I'm sitting here at my kitchen island and the tool will spin in reverse but not forward gear?  Am I missing something or is this thing defective out of the box??

Hi,

It will, both in automatic and manual mode, only spin forward with pressure on the screw driving bit.

Manual mode: put screw on bit, press against stud + press the trigger = win.

Automatic mode: put screw on bit, press against stud = win.

With belted screws and the magazine, you just need the push (in automatic) or push and pull the trigger (manual).

Kind regards,
Oliver

Is the switch in the "Auto" setting? If so it will not start until you are running a screw. Place it in "Man" mode.

I have only used it for about 10 screws.  My one employee loves it.  We are doing a remodel and have a ton of sheetrock to patch up.

It's pretty awesome, only issue I was having is getting in the corners I'm having trouble keeping the screw straight enough for it to be countersunk.  A little practice and all should be well.

Autofeed screw guns and corners do not play together well.
