It was at the Festool Roadshow I went to about a month ago. I was chatting with two Festool reps and was mentioning how there were those threads here on the FOG about how there were Kapex saws burning out, and one of them asks me 'how old is your Kapex?', to which I replied it was over 3 or 4 years old, to which he said I wasn't affected by it. They were younger ones that were affected apparently.
I have no idea based on what I recall of that short conversation. Sorry.
I do have to question the Festool reps reply on that one, something smells funny. If it was only the early saws that had an issue, then when an early saw is repaired why can it still have problems?
There have recently been several members, Alice & Rizzoa13, among others, that have had multiple failures on "REPAIRED" Kapex's. I'm sure the Festool tech's aren't selecting "early" replacement parts when repairing "early" saws. ![Sad [sad]](http://festoolownersgroup.com/Smileys/default/sadsmiley.gif)
