I realized that the under-base dust shroud is ineffective when routing into an inside corner. Shroud prevents bit from reaching fully into corner.

Festool routers have the best dust collection and yet people still aren't happy...

In my experience.....The DC is still half way decent with the shroud removed for inside corner routing. It gets most of the fine stuff so that you won't be inhaling it, and the rest usually stays pretty contained in the immediate work area.

If you do that often, say, at job sites in homes and want it sparkling clean, order a second chip catcher (#492732 $20).  The chip catcher's plastic catcher is easily cut with a hacksaw. In fact, it comes with an embossed line for a wider angle.  You could cut a second one to leave only 85 degrees of 'catch'.  While not as good as 170 degrees of 'catch', I'd bet it would help a little, but overall, like the other said, fines are taken care of, but chips require a little effort.
