I have had two of my vacuums serviced for faulty plugs--the CT 33 twice in 18 months.   Tool cords just fall out or don't make adequate connection.  Anyone else have this problem?

There are several threads here from others that have had this problem.



If you were to leave an outlet adapter like the one above plugged into your CT's outlet you should not have to replace the outlet again.

The plug in my Midi gets loose too, it's not really bad but the sander will cut off every now and then and I have to push it back in.

Do a search on it, I think there are some instructions around on how to tighten the plug without replacing it. I did it on the loaner I had while I was waiting for mine to come in. It's not rocket science though, if I am remembering right you just need a screwdriver and 5 minutes or so to fix it...

If mine gets worse I will have to do the same thing to it...

I got a new simple triple-tap for my new CT so that I wouldn't have to deal with a loose outlet like I did on my other vacs. Guess what?  It was loose in the outlet! Obviously, it is in the design of the CT outlet and hopefully they will address this EVENTUALLY.  Come on guys- spend 20 cents more on a part to solve a simple and oft occurring problem!!

I've not had any similar issue with my CT 22E, vintage 2004.

Friends, family and Festools make for a good retirement.  PCs...I'm not so sure.

Sounds as though it is not a 'NAINA' issue but 'OINA' (Only In..). Are the US and Canadian electricity sockets standard across the continent? When we lived in Canada in the 1980s I vaguely remember that we either had a particular plug (on a lead) or one or two sockets which were very loose - I think that it was in the kitchen but I cannot be sure.

Have not had it fall out but my CT36 outlet is definitely extremely loose, I had to bungee the cord to the vacuum to prevent any minor "tugging" on it or else the plug would pull far enough out to break contact/loose power.

To me it seems like the normal spring tension (found in typical US outlets) that pinches down on the blades of the power cord plug is MIA.
