What is a table saw. ;D
i did at least 60% more cutting today and every cut perfect. I was making 10' cuts and all perfect. The pest part was i was able to do it with out a helper and he was able to do other task. And the most important part i hand was never near a spinning blade.
most cutting was in solid maple ripping 4" wide peices down to 3 1/2' and not one burn mark or saw mark. It is simply amazing. i can not wait until work tomorrow.

ts 55 was also my first Festool, since then have acquired kapex, ct26, carvex, 125, 18v drill, router etc.  All good tools, none have impressed me like the 55. I often wonder if the 55 wasn't my first purchase would the collection have grown. Honest answer... probably not. Again, all good tools but as a professional contractor I've used A LOT of different tools and the rest of my festools have not blown me away. But that track saw makes me smile every time!

Congrats and welcome! My first purchase was a Festool CT 36 in anticipation of buying a TS55...if you haven't already done so...get a dust extractor...you'll be very happy. :)

Got my TS for Christmas and man it has changed how I work. Or how I "hobby". For months I've bee. Thinking about getting a miter saw but then I'll go out to the garage or do a job for a friend and use the TS (partnered with the Carvex) and I realize.... I don't actually NEED a miter saw. Every day I look at the Bosch sliding miter saw at work for $600 and man is it a nice looking saw. Great reviews too. I'll probably never purchase it no matter how bad I want it because my set up now covers all my needs.

The TS 55 REQ is trully a one of a kind saw and I for me, is an absolute pleasure to use each and every time.

Theres a need for the miter saw.  Especially if your cutting crown or miter cuts on trim.

I've been using my TSC 55 for all my miter cuts, as it cuts much cleaner than my old miter saw, which is old heavy not very accurate and well past it's sale by date, but chomps through those 4 be 2's like a good un.
On the plus side I can leave it in someone's lock up or garage over night and not have to worry about it.
I've been thinking about the Kapex now for too long, I know I will love using it but I just think there might be a cordless version of the Kapex just round the corner and that's what I really want. If they don't hurry up I might have to give the little 216mm cordless Metabo a go, down side is that it's only 18v where as the Kapex could be a 254mm on 36v

Obviously there's a need for a miter saw. As I stated, the TS and Carvex cover all my needs. There's a reason the miter saw is one of the most common tools, it's incredibly valuable, it just hasn't been a necessity since I've had my current setup.

@DB10 Thinkin' about importing that little guy too. It seems very capable for 18v. Some new videos have surfaced since we last talked about it that push the tool a little harder, seems to put up a good fight.
