Hi everybody
There are no doubts that the Festool MFT/3 table is one of the most versatile and useful tools in my shop.  Although the fence of the MFT/3 puts some limitations to this usefulness since it is only a bit longer than one meter. (1080 mm exactly) So even if we take into account the width of the guide rail which is about 185 mm it very difficult to use the original MFT/3 fence with the flip stop for details that are longer  than 1200 mm.
In an attempt to overcome this limitations I bought the FESTOOL 488063 CS 70 KA Trimming Attachment and it just arrived these days. So this is a very short overview of what we get with the FESTOOL 488063 CS 70 KA Trimming Attachment. It is developed by Festool as an attachment for the CS70 or CS 50 table saw but it can be used also with the MFT3. The CS 70 KA Trimming Attachment can be easily rearranged and used on the left side or on the right side of both - the table saw or MFT/3.
The fence is made of very heavy aluminum profile. It weights about 4.5 Kgs. (If I am not wrong this is about 10 pounds) The minimal length of the fence is 128 cm, the height of the fence is 5 cm (2") and the width of the profile is 5.5 cm (about 2.20") as you can see it on the pictures below.
95806-0
The aluminum profile has T-nut slots  on the top, back an bottom
Top view

95808-1
Next to the T-nut slot you can see a wider and a more shallow slot (on the picture it is below the t-nut slot ) This is the slot were you put the measuring tape.
Back side view
95810-2
This is the slot where you put the MFT/3 protractor.
With the fence you also get a flip stop and a smaller plastic stop, which is used to fix the measuring tape on the fence.
95816-3
They both go on top of the fence
95818-4
There are also two plastic knobs on the back side of the fence. By loosening them you can extend the fence to the desired length.
95820-5
The maximal length of the fence is 205 cm. So if you take into account the width of the guide rail (some extra 20 cm) you could easily work on the MFT/3 table with details that are up to 225 cm long (and even longer if the fence is not placed next to the guide rail ) I find this to be a very  very nice improvement of my MFT/3 table!!!
95822-6
What else do we get with the FESTOOL 488063 CS 70 KA Trimming Attachment:
One support and two knobs with t-nuts as you can see on the picture below.
95876-7
Using one of the knobs you can fix the support to the bottom of the fence. You can adjust its position on the fence - more to the left or more to the right depending what your needs are.

95878-8
We also get a leg with an additional support.

95882-9

As you can see on the picture the legs are fixed to the support with braces and you can loosen the braces using the two knobs. This allows you to adjust the height of the legs and of the support. I did not measured exactly but you can adjust the height  of the support  a few centimeters.

95884-10

The leg gives an extra stability to the fence so you can work also with heavy details.
At the end with the FESTOOL 488063 CS 70 KA Trimming Attachment we get also a measuring tape.

95886-11

95888-12

As you can see on the pictures it starts from 3 cm (the first 3 cm are missing) and it is 5 m long!!!
It can easily fit on the side of the fence

95890-13

Using the small plastic stop we can fix the tape in the desired position on the fence

95892-14

The fence is fixed very easy on the MFT/3 table. As you would do with the original fence you slide in on the protractor.

95894-15

Using two stops (Qwas  Dogs) you can easily align the fence with the MFT/3 holes and fix it to the table. You do this exactly as you would do with the original MFT/3 fence.

95896-16

Calibration is also very easy.
In my case I use an right angle that has a length of 30 cm. I fix the flip stop first...

95898-17

...and after that I just pull the measuring tape to the correct position and fix it to the fence with the small plastic stop.

95900-18

Let us make a test cut now.....

95902-19

and after the cut.....

95904-20

As you can see on the picture .. its pretty close to the exact 30 cm. ..... maybe a few hundreds of the millimeter away.
If you need a greater precision I think you could easily adjust the tape.

Well ...that's all.

Well of course we in North America can't get that.  In your first image is that the legs for the original Kapex extension?  If so, that fence also fits.

We in NA can use KA-UG-R-L to accomplish what arso_bg did here.  I know they are made for the Kapex but they will mount on the MFT/3 also.  It may be a bit finicky to setup but it would work.

You mean like this. Been using the UG wings on the MFT then the CMS since they first came out.

Last picture is how I've combined the fence from the CMS with the MFT. I've also used the MFT fence in concert on the CMS.

That's it. They will work with any of the tables or CMS because they are all at the same height.

Not just the same high, but have the V-groove connection rail in common. That is what really makes it all come together.

Tom
That's exactly how I use my UG wings when I'm assembling window liners or casings.  Get all my cuts done on the Kapex, then mass assemble them for the entire house.  Gotta love a system that really works together!

If you can get your hands on the old style Kapex extension fence it will work just fine on a MFT. It can extend out to 8 ft in length and has a tape and flip stop that comes with it to.

Just ordered another MFT/3! Going to connect them together.  [big grin] Can't stop sliding on this slippery slope! I also am going to use an 8' aluminum fence with flag stop that will work with both the protractors and the rip-dog fence dogs and adapters. This should allow me to cross-cut long parts repeatably.
