The MFK. WOW! What a nice router. Very powerful for its size. Precise control of the cutting depth, incredible. I am very happy with it.
There are a few things that bug me about it.
I do not like the fact that you have to break out the allen wrench to install the bearing guide.
Cutting edgebanding around a corner is very hard. The cutting depth is raised is raised as you change the orientation of the base to turn the corner.
Dust collection is excellent through the base. Not good with the guide bushing. And horrible on the edge guide. I modified my guide bushing by drilling 1/4" holes in the flat between the cylinder and the threads. Presto, excellent DC now!
I was routing a rabbet with a 1/2" straight cutter today and all the chips just flew right past the shroud on the edge guide. I swear maybe 20% went to the vac. I have a great mod that will take care of that though.
This will not be a standard review on how to use this tool. I think most of us know what comes in the systainer and will not need a how to on changing bits and such. I will be posting how I use the router in my day to day work, what pleases me, what does not, and the solutions I have found to make the displeasing pleasing.
For the purpose of full disclosure this tool was provided to me after I worked very hard and earned it.
