I have the MFT 1080 and there is a handy place to store the allen wrench on the "protractor head" - my son-in-law recently got the MFT/3 - is there no place to store the allen wrench? Just seems odd.

thx Bill

No handy place that I am aware of.  But if memory serves me correctly your saw hex fits that and is at hand usually.

Same place you store all your MFT accessories like dogs, clamps, etc?

I keep all of mine in a SYS/3-MFT.

I honestly don't remember if an Allen wrench came with the MFT/3.  If it did, then I guess it's with the rest of my Allen wrenches or lost.

I’m trying to remember what you need the Allen wrench for.
The only thing I can think of is the stops you don’t need to adjust.
Am I missing something.
Rick.
Have you walked your saw today?

The beauty of the situation is I don’t own an MFT, consequently I don’t need an Allen wrench and my workbench doesn’t wobble.  [popcorn]

Sorry that they eliminated a handy and convenient little feature. The one on the saw probably works and usual need is for saw setup - maybe I’ll just use one of these, they work great on the drill press.

@Bill Fleming , they didn't eliminate - they never provided.  Just like the Carvex.  And the Kapex (laser adjusting hex).

Perhaps in other parts of the world people carry around a special box for hex keys.  Throw in your Festool, some Ikea, ...

Yup the saw allen wrench works as well, or you could get a Festool toolie....very handy in the shop apron...then again I don't travel with my tools, just a home hobby guy. I seem to remember some folks drilling a "tight" hole in the side of the mft top and putting the key in the hole..not sure how that would travel though.

Once you use it to connect the rail to the rear "hinge" and then adjust your "protractor head" then it won't be used in regular use.

Clear packing tape to the underside of the table along on edge.

My son-in-law’s MFt/3 did come with the wrench - just loose in the box...

They never provided a place to store it.  Also on the Carvex ...

Sorry for the confusion based on my post.

My Kapex came with an allen key for the laser adjustment. The only thing is I got lucky to find it buried into the foam package.

You are looking at the right thing in the right place but wrong item! [big grin]
Perhaps, you should get this instead. The correct size is the 1/2" #C

The screw that attached the leg to the table will hold the magnet very strong.
Then do this. Nobody would ever know.
