I was trying to find a part to order - the small clamp that holds the fence to the V channel. I wanted to use it the way Paul Marcel suggests to fix the fence along the edge of the table. When I look in EKAT, I only see the indvidual part numbers that make up the clamp. What's the number for the whole clamp?

Thanks,

chris

As I recall, you have to order the parts.

I hope not, In Paul's video he indicated he ordered the "Clamp" but I guess if there is no other way...

Call Festool USA.  I bought them by buying individual parts, but someone later wrote me to say when they called and said what they wanted to do, there was a part number (not on EKAT) for the whole clamp.  I only have the number for the 1080 version, but call.  Much easier than the 6 parts to that.

Is it this thing? It's an accessory.

I got the parts for one of the clamps through EKAT. When I ordered it I discovered the price of the assembled part was more than twice the cost of buying the individual parts and assembling it myself. It is not a complicated part so I just ordered the parts and assembled it.
I also use the  2 clamps to hold the fence to the table but have found that the fence is not as secure with the 2 small clamps as using the large fence guide and one clamp.

ROFL, that seemed weird to me so I checked it for myself but you're right, amazing as it is. Most of the times it surely is the other way around, but for this thing somehow not. Here in Holland it's €16 vs €28 ex VAT.

Thanks for noticing this. I was sure it would be the other way around - like trying to build a car from the parts.  Big Grin

Also thanks for the comment about how secure it was - it certainly looks secure on Paul's video. It does get you more crosscut room regardless so I'll have to make sure the fence is locked down tight.
