Could someone please tell me the difference in the Installer sets # 495129 and 498796. I realize the 498 version is the new up and coming version. But I have seen the 495 version on line for sale (EBay) and I wonder if there is a great difference of the two.
Thanks for any help in this
Sal

Festool releases centrotec set each year. These editions marked as Centrotec 07, 08, 09 etc. As I know NA edition of centrotec was 07 edition. E-bay listing has detailed description what's included. Festool USA site has description what's included in 11 USA set. (it is slightly modified WorldWide version). The major difference is drill bits. 07 version has "regular" metric bits, 11 USA version has imperial brad point bits. Plus older version goes in old style systeiner, Ver. 11 in T-lock systainer.

No, there's way less that that, there's only going to be 5. Keep in mind both Paul and I get one to review so that leaves 3. You guys guys better act fast, really fast. Dealers, this is going to be worse than the recon sale.

Funny, Brice. But we didn't allocate one for you. You know that I'm not going to disclose the exact number of units. Look, I'm not going to just say that quantities are limited in order to bolster sales. I have no doubt that we will be sold out VERY quickly on these. We sold through inventory on the 2007 Centrotec Set in a very short period of time. You'll just have to trust me (or not). I'm not trying to make it out as a collectors item, I want the guys who have been waiting for this set to have the opportunity to get it. And, waiting too long is not going to get you one. Shane

No, but they ARE solar (if you put them in the sun, they get hot!)

Shane, A silly question - maybe it's confidential but if not, out of idle curiosity, WHY are you only importing limited numbers to the US? (I have the new one and two older ones - so I understand their appeal - what I'd really like would be a more comprehensive set, but then the price would be really prohibitive ) Regards, Richard.

Richard, the decision on how many are ordered is not one that I make. I suspect it's a combination of things including production capacity in Germany, willingness of Germany to customize a special version for us, etc. Plus, this is a promotional item at a significant discount over retail cost of the components. So, think of it as a limited time discounted deal.

They were limited production, Rocky.
You may find some dealers that still have them but Festool USA ran out a long time ago.

I think I saw that Ace Tool listed it as in stock...their online inventory may be incorrect but I just saw that the other day as I'm looking for one myself. It is however listed at full price and I know it was reduced before they went stockless!
