« on: January 11, 2018, 11:58 AM »

I'm betting the introduction of this will revolutionize how we all work... Hopefully the price will be under $50? Hahaha

A bit baffled why Festool would add this thing to their line up.  [huh] These things are common here in stores for 3 to 5 euros. Nothing special about it.

Sure it's not a spoof?

Why would they bother to divert even 1 resource into pursuing this???

Seriously. [scratch chin]

They supposedly won't make tools like recip saws, impact drivers, etc., because they can't innovate them to be Faster Easier Smarter tools than already on the market. Yet they'll divert resources to this. Just another generic company looking to make money wherever possible. Nothing smart about them anymore.

I am surprised it does not come in a foam lined systainer with a card in the lid to show where everything goes.

That's what I thought until I noticed the male model is wearing a Festool style shirt and definitely Festool trousers. [jawdrop]

Just need a Festool brush and roller frame in a systainer. $250.00 kit plus 5% increase each year.

Couple thoughts -----

I seriously doubt Festool put any real time or resources into this.  More likely it is re-branded from whatever source. So it is unlikely to detract from other Festool projects.

Looks pretty real but it is possible to get Festool clothing. But probably real.

I have seen a couple other "Festool"  items that were really only created in the Festool name because they were needed to be part of a kit / package that was going to be sold as a complete ready to use unit to a particular client. In which case might as well sell some extras in addition. This could be one of those things.

And  if this was packaged in a Mini Sys I would need one just because.   [eek]

Actually I want one anyway for the collection of both useless and useful  Festool stuff that I have. Just for fun  [big grin]

There have been plenty of similar items over the years. It's embarrassing there are enough fools to buy the rebranded crap they sell because it is green. I've seen a cooler, work glasses, level, utility knife, carpenter's rule, tape measure and probably many others I don't remember and that is in addition to the jackets, t-shirts, mugs, pencils, paper etc. At least the latter is swag and is given away or sold for advertising purposes.

The real shame is that someone is being paid to come up with these rebranded items and they sell. There is a sucker born every minute (attributed to PT Barnum, but no evidence he said it).

All these unnecessary items and they still cannot deliver a Robertson Square Drive bit.

I had to modify the post because I forgot:
Socket Set
*Regular Watch
Festool 90 Year Chronograph Tachymeter Watch Ltd, Edition
Thermal Cup
Micro Systainer
Snack Set
*Beer stein
Voctorinox 12 In 1 Tool
Push Stick
Apron in Systainer

*I am not certain these are official items

I saw this on their YT site earlier as well.  This seems like a slick tool if you work with foam or insulation day in and day out.

Cheers.  Bryan.

I agree. They just ordered them from wherever all these are made with their logo on it. No different from t-shirts or other trinkets that pretty much any notable company makes for promotional purposes. It'll probably be in their "fan merchandise" category. I see no harm in that.

Sure, it’s just the marketing video which is particularly ridiculous.  Maybe the baseball caps deserve a video too.  But only if they have the 90s rock music from the older FUSA videos.

Are there going to be any kind of guide rail or jig accessories to allow you to swipe the paint roller at the correct angle?

Maybe Peter will need to step in and invent another tool for this.

Well I hate to be the harbinger of bad news but if this is a "for sale" product, there will be a lot of paperwork that needs to be generated & processed and a lot of people that will have to move that paper work along. Long gone are the days of just purchasing an item and then putting it in an inventory bin. That works fine for strictly give-away swag items such as pencils, pens, pads of paper and baseball hats.

However, when reselling "for sale" items, you need part numbers, engineering specs, marketing specs, possibly a Bill of Material, packaging specifications, QA specifications, inventory binning specifications, safety stock levels need to be determined, order-entry has to weigh in, purchasing and manufacturing have to weigh in or sign off. If a video is released, now an additional layer of people are in the loop including marketing again, advertising and possibly sales. Are you ISO certified? More hoops to step through, more paperwork to generate.

Indeed, weird, in same time, nobody bothered to solve, for example, cable wrap issue with CT26 when using handle... OK, I solved it myself using... ...already Festool made parts from CT22, but... Well, isn't that manufacturer's duty in this price range?  [huh]

Great! I was looking for a tool that would raise already proud loose nails 13 mm but not remove them.

Seneca is working on a precision machined anodized aircraft aluminum adapter plate which fits in the teardrop to hold different size scrapers and drywall tools with multiple flexibility.  There will also be an optional handle that sits 90 degrees to the existing handle to allow more leverage when opening rusted cans of paint and assist carpal tunnel suffers.  Also a paint stirrer attachment calibrated for US gallon cans with precise markings at full, 3/4, 1/2 and 1/4.  A metric version will be added later.

It actually should be 6-in-1 multi-tool since it also makes incredible shadow puppets when used in conjunction with Festool's SysLite DUO, SysLite II, SysLite STL or SysLite Uni lighting solutions.

Thanks for reading my first post.  I waited until I felt I had something worthy to contribute.
