I have been using the festool store in Palm Desert, Ca lately and their turnaround been pretty quick.

Japan Woodworker is my local supplier of choice and I have been doing business with Fred for over 35 years.  You can't go wrong with Japan Woodworker.

I live in WA also. If you want the fastest shipping then shop at Amazon and get a prime subscription. That gives you free 2 day shipping and $4 overnight. If you want the "normal" and free ground delivery that all dealers offer then go with http://www.thefestoolstore.com/. Three shipping days to the Puget Sound Area of WA.

My main buying strategy is to get my tools and big ticket items from http://www.thefestoolstore.com/. Then I use Amazon as my small parts and consumables supplier, or at any time an I am in a pinch for time. I also like too see other dealers listing in the Amazon Marketplace like Tool-home who sometimes get their fulfillment done by Amazon. Under that arrangement I still get free expedited delivery from Amazon and I also avoid paying WA sales tax. To top it off I charge it on my Amazon 3% rewards visa. I would love to make all my purchases through the Amazon Marketplace dealers for these reasons. Unfortunately there is not much Festool inventory that is both sold in the marketplace and fulfilled by Amazon. But it's my preferred buying method when possible.

You may want to check Edensaw to see what they stock in the way of Festool products.  It's only a short ferry ride away.   

T,   to the FOG.  Regarding Amazon, they are a Festool dealer themselves.  What clouds the issue is that other dealers can have listings or stores on Amazon also.  So if you want to buy a Festool Domino on Amazon, you can get it thru Amazon the dealer, or thru one of the dealers who use Amazon as a storefront.  Whatever the business arrangements are with Amazon and their participating dealers I am not privy to that information but it would be logical to assume that there would be some sort of fee/percentage.

I prefer to deal with dealers directly and have had great success with several of the dealers who participate here, including Bob, over the years.

I've made 2 seperate orders from JWW that had backordered items and they only charged me for what was in stock. The first time was over a month till the BO items came in and they emailed then called me to confirm that they could charge my card. The second time I never heard back... Still waiting on that Sys5

I ordered two sets of locking Systainer latches back in April... but wanted a specific key (to match the ones I already have).  Long story short, I just got them in February.  And they only charged my CC last month when fulfilling the order.
And to their credit something went awry with Tanos Germany order and they didn't receive the keysets I requested... But JWW made it right by sending an additional set (at no charge) to replace the set to which I wanted to match.

I have made numerous purchases from Bob Marino, ToolNut (Sean Ackerman on here), and Tool Home (Tom Bellemare).
Nothing has taken more than 4 days to arrive to me (I'm in the midwest).  99% of the time there's a box on my doorstep within 2 or 3 days.

I actually got my CXS from Edensaw but was not planning to make a trip over there anytime soon. I wanted to avoid paying for the ferry and taxes on the saw and clamps, ordering online saves me about $75 and with baby number one on the way it was hard enough to talk myself into spending the money.

I place an online order in January with Japan Woodworker for a systainer package for my multimaster. Someone called me a few minutes later to say part of the items were on back order. I ask them  not ship the order until the order was complete because I needed all of the items to make the package. About a week later I received the items they had in stock. I was billed for the complete order.
I emailed them last week & asked them to refund my money on the back ordered items, I also called & left a message, I have not received a return call or a reply to the email.

Chris, Sorry to hear about your issues with Japan Woodworker.  My experience has been shopping at their store where they have great people.  I will mention to them the numerous issues mentioned on the FOG.
