Since I've not yet chimed in, let me throw in my hat. I would likely make the trek down. After all, I can visit family since I'm from Virginia, about 2-3 hours from Richmond, originally. Would like to have the opportunity to meet more of you in person.

BTW, Builderbob, I'll wait for you on I-84 right where Rt 7 branches off. I'll be sittin' on my lawn mower so you can spot me. I hope you have space for it, as I shore would hate ta lose it. If it ain't too much ta ask, we could stop for Tom(off in the boonies of Texas) along the way from picking up Woody from Anchorage. It's really not out of the way.
Tinker... I'll pick you up on 84! I'll bring my trailer so we can keep track of your mower! Maybe it'll turn into a Jimmy Buffet type escapade en route...we can fit a couch or two! As far as Texas & Anchorage...that's a bit out of the way & my truck doesn't float well! I can comfortably fit 5 (including me) and then anybody else who wants to lay in the bed of the truck can (at their own risk)! I'm anxious to hear upcoming news on dates as my sons 2nd birthday is mid June and we'll be throwing a big backyard event here...fingers are crossed!!! Bob |

I am now drawing out the Foggers within two hours. I didn't know I had so many so close!

The tools in my truck were talking the other day. The Dewalts, PC's, Boschs, Makitas were not happy. They also were in the minority. Their complaint: They felt unused and unappreciated since the Festools moved in. I guess the truth hurts.

In my mind a FOGfest in Richmond will not happen with me involved. The venues are frankly subpar to pull this off with the exception of one, but the cost for that one is mind boggling.
I am investigating a different city that frankly has a whole lot more to offer for conventions and exhibits as well as to family members and woodworkers who enjoy history and this could really expand participation - if the costs come in reasonable. It is close to Richmond. Any guesses?

I went to the woodworking show at the Fredericksburg Expo center this year and that facility seemed pretty nice and downtown Fredericksburg and the surounding area has some great historical buildings and museums. -Jim |
