Yesterday I ordered a Kapex, UG and CT26, all of which will arrive during the next two days. I've flirted with Festool in the past, but I'm about to embark on some major finishing and refinishing work in my home. I'm worried this will be the beginning of some significant tool conversion, but really looking forward to having some fun with some fine equipment. I do feel a little silly not being a professional and spending this kind of money, but I'm a bit of a perfectionist, and after all, I'm saving some money by not hiring a contractor. This must be an awfully common justification, but it works for me. Howie

Welcome howie... That's an awesome first purchase. My kapex is hands down my favorite Festool followed by my cxs. You better hide the credit card now.

Welcome, Howie, You're not the only DIY'r here. There are several of us around. So come on in, get comfortable, and enjoy yourself. There's a great bunch of folks here who are always willing to help. And just a word of warning. The green koolaide is very addictive, so watch your credit card closely.

Welcome Howie. Congratulations on buying the Kapex. It's a big commitment but you will love it. It's a great tool and the envy of trim carpenters I've met who wish they had one. Tim

Welcome Howie. I and many others are not professionals either but we enjoy fine tools. You have just taken your first step on the slippery slope.

Hi Howie, Welcome to the FOG ! You do not need to be a pro to appreciate and use good tools. And if you have trim work to do you will love the accuracy , quality cut, and lasers on Kapex plus the excellent DC. It will make that type of work easier. Seth
